I'm all about comfort myself. I try to get shoes that also can look good for many events, but I don't really own any HIGH heels. I know I've mentioned it before, but some of my fancier shoes only add maybe one inch. I'm okay with the height I am.
High heels can be comfy. If I was doing a day out for instance. I often wear these. [as below] I have two pairs, one like these patents, and one in plain leather. Both are 3 inch high, and I wear them all day, without a hint of discomfort.

I prefer the "wedge" type heels if anything, or the ones that are at least thicker around.. those skinny little heels are not good for me, whatever they are called lol I don't know shoe terms.

Its like vintage.. often looks great on young people who are wearing it for the first time but for those of us who remember it from first time round... its a no no.. IT ages us.

What makes it particularly weird, is that it would probably look ok on me, IF, I had a bag on my head.......
I guess it makes you look immature if you're older and wearing what people deem "youthful" attire... but really, we should be able to wear whatever we want lol

We must ALWAYS wear what we want.
Personal style should be about freedom and expression. It should also be fun. Clothing shows a person's personality and their lifestyle. Like if a woman always wears red lipstick, she's seen as passionate and fun to be around. And stylish shoes show personality, as well.
I am not suggesting anyone become a fashion victim BUT finding one's personal style - like I have - is wonderful. I love looking and feeling positive about myself. I avoid the jeans and T-Shirt trap: instead I wear dresses and also funky trousers and skirts. I love being creative with my look. I also love wearing lipstick. I don't have a vast collection of lipsticks, but do have colours I always wear. This includes red lipstick.
I also wear charity shop dresses. I LOVE going into charity shops and finding unique finds.
Anyhow, high heels ARE fabulous, so enjoy wearing them! You can also Google high heel images and get even more creative with your shoe look.

The joy of youth. I always smile when I see little kids wearing masks as they go through town. I am sure they are smiling underneath, as they reckon everyone can see a real pirate.
But, yes, you are right. But I hope I would look just as awful in a polo shirt with a grey tweed skirt and flat shoes.
In principle I agree to everyone wearing what they want. But sometimes people need advice does anyone remember the outfit that Olivia Newton-John wore at the end of the film Grease? Those high heels tight leather trousers the bomber jacket the low plunging top there's a woman round here who dresses like that the problem is she's about 70. She staggers about in the supermarket like a pregnant duck trying to stay upright on those heels, squeezed into those trousers and overflowing from the top, she is too old for this look and believe me it shows.

In principle I agree with you, Cassie.
But, they people do have to accept that if they end up looking ridiculous, people are going to give them a second glance.
Which is fine, if you are someone who enjoys a second glance for ANY reason.

Perhaps she just enjoys the attention?
I know I have not seen her with my own eyes, but at least she isn't boring and dressed in pearls and a twinset! BUT - again - I haven't seen her myself. But part of me admires her: she has guts and it is good she is enjoying her own personal style.

The only time I wear thick, lined boots like that is when I'm shoveling snow or using the snow blower, although they are waterproof. Any other time, I wear more stylish booties with heels.
If you like them, and they are comfortable (main priority), then they're a "Do."
