When I was in my teens, I would have voted communist, but there was no candidate in my area. Since forever, I have voted socialist, even after my socialist party became right wing. What choice did I have? Our country went right in the eighties and it has never really returned to central, let alone the left.

I tell a lie, I once tried voting tactically for the Liberals, to get Thatcher out. She did fine.

I haven't taken the quiz yet....but I call myself a conservative. And yet I still feel I care about people.

I guess it comes down to the fact that I just don't have the same liberal confidence in either Communism or Socialism.

The settlement of Jamestown nearly collapsed until each family was allowed to personally keep a portion of their crop yield. Human nature has flaws and without the potential for personal gain, economic stagnation results with fewer jobs, less wealth and freedom. And this result is certainly not good for people.

However, as I am British my answers are somewhat skewed because a few really don't apply to me. I am liberal but I think as a culture we are generally more conservative than Americans. I am very open minded tho but live by the motto as long as you are not hurting anyone (including yourself) than go for it.
