I use Workrave to make sure I get up every 15 minutes for a minute, and then every hour I get up for 10 minutes. I would recommend it or something similar :-)

Although it's a lengthy video, it is eye-opening. For me, I used to jog. That was putting a strain on my joints, so what I began doing was intervals. I now walk to a point and then sprint to the next point and continue that routine until I've run out of points. Afterward I feel better than I did with the constant up and down pounding on my feet, legs, and knees. It works for me. And thank you, Heather.

Sometimes we need to be reminded to get up and moving more! I feel more dedicated to doing so the more I read or watch videos about how unhealthy it is. Sometimes I get lazy and will not get up for hours at a time... can't do that anymore! My tailbone has issues now from my sitting too often for too long =/
lol yeah, it's all about finding a happy and healthy medium!
Yes, cherry, my coccyx! It gets pretty painful to the point where I can't sit for long, or at least not in certain positions. I bought myself a pillow to help; it has an area cut out for the tailbone.
I reckon it is coz we are both on the thin side. When I was fatter, it was never a problem. Now I often get a tender rear. My seat also has an extra cushion.
It is one of my fears of old age. Some of my patients are helped out of bed in the morning, put onto a chair, and will virtually stay there until they are returned to their beds at night.
My rear end would be screaming out by that time.
It is not my coccyx though. It sounds as if yours may be a little pronounced, or the angle may be a tad steeper.
My butt doesn't get sore very much, unless I sit on a hard surface, but whose wouldn't? But my tailbone does kind of stick out a bit, and it also points to the side a little.
I did fall on it when I was younger, so I'm not sure if I damaged it way back then without realizing the extent. But I do know posture and sitting for too long can cause coccyx pain, and I have done both of those things regularly.. =/ Now that I am having issues I am working on sitting properly and not sitting for hours at a time. I started having the pain a few months ago, and it has gotten a little better, but some days are still worse than others.
