You knew it was over when your ex said.....what?

Oy.. this is more like.. "I should have known it was over when my ex said..." because I was dumb and stayed way past many things that were really wrong lol I'll write a list of everything that built up over the year plus I was with him. I'm really too nice and passive I guess, and I was such a pushover who was easily manipulated and preyed on by guys like this. I am embarrassed to tell you all these things, but here goes....

1.) My ex told me he wasn't sure if he could ever love me because I have a chronic illness.

2.) My ex wanted me to stay the night so we could have sex for the first time, I turned him down and asked him to take me home; I was not ready. Instead of respecting this, he threw a tantrum and began kicking and slamming things while mumbling (not sure what he was saying, so sorry, this may not fit in this thread lol). He then drove me home in silence for 30 minutes and was acting like he wanted to cry. I almost did break up with him over that, but dumb me stayed.

3.) My ex and I were watching a movie, and he received a phone call from his best female friend. After getting off the phone with her, he sighed and said, "I should be the one marrying her.."

4.) He told me if we had a disabled child that he would disown it. It doesn't have to be severely disabled either... just being in a wheelchair was more than enough reason for him to abandon his child.

5.) He told me he could justify cheating on me because he couldn't please me sexually.

6.) He went on a trip with some friends to a gaming convention. He ended up hanging out with a girl while there... and by the way, this was during our one year anniversary, and he didn't even call me. So, he returns, and he tells me that he would definitely date that girl if she didn't have a boyfriend. Oh, also, he told me about how his friend tried to set up him with someone to hook up with while he was there, but he turned her down... not because he had a girlfriend, but because he wasn't sexually attracted to her.....

7.) I snooped and found a chat he had with a girl. They were talking about sex and the things he would do to her, and she was saying how she'd let him. He was saying how I wouldn't let him do those things, you know, such as choking and being borderline violently rough during sex..


But here you go... the final nail in the coffin... it was something he said to my friend actually. My friend then relayed this information to me weeks after the fact, assuming my ex discussed it with me and we resolved things.. HA

My ex told my friend that his brain was telling him to be with me, but his heart was telling him to be with this other girl (mind you, it was a girl who showed no interest in him whatsoever). So yes, that was what made me decide to end it, and it's not even as bad as some of the other things. I wish I would have ended it after the first crappy thing he ever said to me.

We can feel embarrassed together ;-)

It's the last straw that breaks the camel's back.

My last straw, was one afternoon in the park. I was sitting next to the ex watching my daughter play with the dog. All of a sudden, the ex took me in a loving hug, and I went rigid.

I am not proud of that, but that did tell me everything.

He moved out the family bed that night, and the mixture of guilt and relief was quite something.

I am sure he looks better than mine. Mine has gone scrawny with very thin, but quite long straw coloured hair. His clothes sense was always, actually hard to describe. It was almost fashionable, somehow it just seemed to miss though.

Mine also speaks as if he swallowed a kazoo.

You know what..all those things you just stated, had I asked you when you feel in love with him, you would have said you found them cute, quirky and endearing....

It is only after we leave that they are just annoying!

I knew it was over when my ex asked me "your son or me". That was it

Glad we called it quits, I'm happy now with my son and a new guy who's been very supportive of me and my son!

My ex. As in my most recent ex of 24 hours:

"You deserved to be hit"

That was the sentence that I knew was going to end our relationship. But, it was 7 months before I finally did it, and he said and did a lot of other mean things since then.

I guess because I didn't leave him right then and there, he must have thought it was ok for him to say what he did.

And I hoped that it would be the worse thing I would ever hear from him. And I suppose it was the worse thing I ever HEARD but it didn't change the fact that he continued to try to control me with his manipulative behavior.

After that, every time I got mad at him I looked back at that one thing he said. And later when I brought it up a week ago when we almost broke up he said "You provoked me."

It sent chills down my spine.

So far so good. I have not regretted my decision, not even for a second!

We still live together until the house gets sorted but hopefully this will happen soon.
