The Butterfly Effect is just about going back in time and changing outcomes... but then the results usually are just worse than if you didn't do anything at all.
Life is Strange is $20 for all episodes, but I think the first one is free. It's the first one. I have not played the second or the new one coming out (True Colors). That is the one that is $60! I usually wait for games to be on sale, so I wait a few years unless it's something I really really want ;p
Ninjala was free on the Switch but then a couple episodes and some other thing I didn't understand cost money. I got the two episodes but I don't understand how to play them or if they come as you play through or what.
Years ago when I was still in elementary, I was probably the only girl diligently playing video games at school lol!
I'm still playing, now on my PS4, laptop, and mobile phone. Mostly on phone since I carry it with me wherever. Playing Persona 5 Strikers on PS, Stardew Valley sometimes on laptop, and Epic Seven on phone.

Stardew valley, I haven't played in a long time. It's mainly because my SO and I would stay up late into the night playing. It was so addictive! That was before multiplayer was out, and we never actually played it together, just at the same time lol maybe one day we'll play again.
I have Story of Seasons. I didn't care for Stardew. I carry my Nintendo 3DS XL in my purse. LOL!
I miss my PlayStation but, it always got too hot and froze up.
Story of Seasons sounds similar to Harvest Moon? I think one of Harvest Moon's developers made a similar game with different name in the past, can't remember which one is which though.
Personally, PlayStation games these days are too expensive but not interesting enough for me. At least some games have demos. You're not losing much by not playing on PS these days lol.

My friends and I also liked to play multi when it first came out. Just not feasible for long runs because of everyone's schedules lol. There were new updates coming this year with new end-game content and new map, one unofficial mod extended the game so much with new characters and places. A lot to play, not enough time. xD
That and someone said they were talking about not making anymore PlayStation consoles after 5. I was reading where they're talking about getting rid of the physical console and going to live stream gaming. I hate to think what that will cost. *Rolls Eyes*
I have been hearing a lot about Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. I saw an email that stated you could get it on Google Play for any Android device which is either like Chromebook or similar so I Googled it. It said it would run on here so I installed it. Haven't cracked it open yet. Maybe tomorrow.
Livestream gaming still needs some kind of console, no? Is everything going to move to PC gaming then? I don't see myself investing in PC just for games anyway. Maybe I'll hijack Dad's PC system once in a while when that happens lol.
I can't imagine playing games like Animal Crossing or Stardew on mobile devices, the screen is just too small to do stuff.

I don't like small screens for games at all. Usually the larger the better. I prefer simulations rather than other types of games though.
That's true. The game I'm playing on mobile is mostly just tapping here and there, and the screen still feels too small sometimes. Then there are people who play active action games that needs precision on that small screen lol.
Simulation games, do you mean something like The Sims?

lol yes, exactly.. not enough time. Maybe when I'm older and no longer working I can return to such games more often ;p I don't plan on giving up video games until my body doesn't allow for it!
I don't like playing on small screens either. I will if I'm trying to pass the time and all I have is my phone. The other day, our power was out, so I was playing The Room 2 on my phone lol my phone starts to overheat in like 20 minutes of that one. I'd probably prefer it on a larger screen.
I mainly play on the PC these days. I used to balance between consoles and PC when I was younger, though.

I feel the same way! Kinda thankful that developers are taking phone gaming seriously these days, now we can get good quality games even though we only have little time to spare. I keep getting distracted, there are always games to check like Marci said lol!

I wait for the day I can throw away my laptop and invest solely on PC for the games lol!

I used to play games like that when the kids were getting toward and in their teens, as they played them. I used to like the 'Settlers' series. At the time they had a number of simulators, mostly car and aeroplane. Since then I have not played much and the games they left are now pretty ancient. I did play a car rally game from time to time though. I found that the steering wheel we had for a Playstation worked with the PC with an interface I found. My son wore out the Playstation and it went. We still have a Sega Megadrive with all the games as well but it is packed away. I will try it sometime. I tend to get irritated with games though. They can often be too quick as I don't move quickly.
More recently I have bought a new laptop. As I was testing it out I tried a free flight simulator that I downloaded (Flightgear) to test the graphics. I enjoyed it so much that I have actually gone out and bought another one (X-Plane). I love aeroplanes and would like to fly one but, apart from cost, there are too many rules with the real thing. I would like aerobatics which is probably not an easy or cheap thing to get into. I find it interesting though to read the historical books about flying, both wartime and the exploits of Amy Johnson etc, then start up the simulator and get immersed in things even more, flying a similar aeroplane at least when I learn how to avoid crashing it. The simulaters are pretty realistic now and so unforgiving lol.

Ah so that's what you meant by simulation, thanks for explaining. You're similar to my dad! He wanted to be a pilot, so now he channels it through Flight Simulator the game. He builds the PC system for that game, buys the additional tools that mimic parts of the cockpit, buys the add-ons for the airports and aircrafts, and talks about it all the time when Mom and I understand nothing about flying. XD I think he's more into the commercial flights than aerobatic ones.
Did you buy a gaming laptop? I think simulation games like those have quite heavy requirements.

No, I didn't buy a gaming laptop. It is a business laptop (mobile workstation). I was able to get a discount such that it was pretty equivalent to a gaming laptop of the same price but, in theory, with a better build quality. I didn't buy it for gaming - It just happened lol.
I do have some additional equipment like joystick and rudder pedals but I haven't gone to the extremes that some do. Most of the software addons I get are free except for donations. I do donate but after I have settled with something. One good thing about the pandemic is that, not going far, I could afford to splash out. I had good training from the kids in the gaming world.

That's a really nice deal! Too bad my main work doesn't justify me buying high-end business laptops with specs some heavy games generally require lol!
I have been playing The Sims 4. I got it for free about a year ago or so and never tried it lol finally got around to it... I am downloading mods to make it more fun xD
So far I made a girl names Ella Vera.. she likes gardening. She is also a freelancing programmer now (working from home her own hours) because there was no gardening careers, and the one mod I found for that line of work didn't work. At least while working at home she can tend to her garden more. I think I read there might be a career like that in one of the expansions, but I'm not paying $30+ for an expansion. They have to be crazy!
Right now her love interest is some random NPC guy named Don. He is in the astronaut field.. I wouldn't have guessed that just looking at him lol unfortunately, he has a personality trait where he is against commitment, so I'm not sure what type of future they'll have together ;p

The Sims have come so far. I feel so stupid for not being able to catch up. There are so many options and customization possible now, it took me a while just to finish setting up my character lol.
Gardening and astronomy go well together. Don can take your plants to the space and plant them on the planets he finds!
A while back I saw a YouTube video of someone playing The Sims 4 the vampire edition? There's some kind of story plot with goals to reach. That's different from The Sims I used to know, but haven't tried it yet.

The Sims 4 is missing a lot of what was in the Sims 3, but it also has some cool features that I like better... such as sims being able to multitask. That is the best edition IMO because I hated canceling tasks just so they could interact with another sim lol now they can chat and cook... work and chat.. so awesome!
Haha, you're right, what a great pairing... he should take those spliced plants to space! I have been splicing really weird things together lol I made a basil, parsley, daisy, sage plant...
If I were to get any expansions (if they ever go on sale), then it probably would be things that do make the game completely different feeling.. so maybe vampirism would be a good example. There's ones for spell casting even I think lol that could be fun.
My friend also loves The Sims 3 the most, and I think she's played all versions of the series. Multitasking is interesting, I don't remember it exactly but I think my sim did work and chat at one time.
Once I saw The Sims 4 was more than 50% off on Steam, was so close to purchasing it when I realized that it was only for the base game, and the vampire mode I wanted to try was a separate purchase. It's like there's one expansion for every one feature I want to have in the game. Honestly, this game makes me want to pirate it or just play the free mobile version lol!
Last time the sale happened, though, there were also bundles of different expansions together with some discounts. As now the end of the year is coming (ugh), maybe we'll see some nice deals soon.
Yeah, the expansions are way too much money, but you almost need them to make the game more enjoyable. I really don't like how they separate every little thing to make as much money as they can off of people. I like the game, but I don't support their methods lol maybe it will be free again so you can snag it! I think it was near one of the holidays I was able to get it for free on Origin.
Getting it for free sounds nice, though again, without the expansions, there is only so much we can do. Hopefully I'll get the chance to grab such a deal someday! There are so many gaming platforms these days. I only know Steam at first, then my friends introduced me to Epic Games. Now there's Origin as well.

Yes, Steam is my favorite. I only have others because they basically make it necessary to play certain games.. I would only want Steam otherwise lol
I also use GOG; they have sales sometimes of games. There is also the Humble bundle that I usually recommend for sales.. money also goes to charity. I hope you'd be able to use them outside the US!
