I'm grateful for Boxing Day! We always visited my mum's dad on this day (closest grandparent by distance and relationship-wise too) and we opened presents from him, so it was like a second Christmas for us. As gruff as he seemed to be most of the time, he was very generous at Christmas and knew how to celebrate well. He even experimented later in life at making his own pizza, and it was really good, so that joins the Christmas and Boxing Day memories that make me smile.
I'm grateful for a couple of hours alone time my husband has gone off to town with my daughter so I have a morning on my own no that I'm doing anything exciting just laundry and making hamburgers but... it's me, on my own.
I am grateful that I caught the bin men this morning. They normally collect later in the day but sneaked in early which has caught many people out. They do say to get them out by 06:30 so have their justification but it's so easy to get into the normal routine. Being the first general refuse collection since Christmas I imagine that will cause issues for some.

MIne are about that time too, so always go out the day before

We always put our's out the night before. We never know what time they will show up. Sometimes early, sometimes late.

I can usually hear them coming as it is quiet where I live and I am up fairly early. I am wary about putting the bin out the night before in case of vandals, although the worst I have seen is someone putting their dog poo into someone else's recycle bin

The communal bins outside my apartment gets full pretty quickly: my neighbours also don't stick to the guidelines of what rubbish goes in each blue and green bins. It all gets mixed up and makes it difficult for the binmen.
