Happy Valentines Day everyone
I asked my son last week what he was getting his mom for Valentines Day and he's like oh but you would have to pay for it yourself. yeah thats how it works when you're single, you buy yourself your own gifts. He made me a card at school (in 6th grade middle school and yes they still make Valentines Day cards)
figuring we might go to dinner/lunch tomorrow. I have places I prefer and he has places he prefers.. and we dont seem to agree. although honestly it doesnt matter where we go, he gets fries and chicken strips. I like Applebees, he likes Red Robin. I like steak and potatoes (although I prefer pork to beef). and could easily fix myself a steak or pork add some sauteed mushrooms (love mushrooms on my food) and some blue cheese chunks. right now it sounds like we're going to a buffet place. he eats his worth but I dont. I always make sure I wear a skirt when I go too. more comfy than the jeans. bought a cake too if my kid will let me have some of it. maybe we'll go to the mall, variety of stores, maybe find a metaphysical store to find something neat at.
sometimes Valentines Day especially single is hard... 'cause I want someone to tell me they love me and me being able to say it back.. would be nice if the feelings went the same way. but before I was married (single now) I was proposed to on Valentines's Day, romantic right? well kinda.... he did it Sizzler's and in front of his parents.. not quite as romantic. and the ring was nice.. supposedly worth a fair amount although honestly small but the ring was from his first engagement that fell thru -- again not so romantic...
