I'm too old to be schooled. Plus I get enough homework at work.
Work life is a busy job as a hospital housekeeper. Low pay but pretty chill job despite being a busy one. Lots of flu and Covid this year.
Home life is pretty quiet. I get up at noon...have coffee...get ready for work. Work from 3 pm to 11:30 pm. Eat and play video games til 4 am and go to bed and start over the next day. Don't hardly have to deal with people anymore or see much of the sunlight that hurts my vampire eyes. LOL!
I'm an introvert and I stay to myself 95% of the time.
hahaha, we must be the popular kids everyone trying to be a guest
Such in a happy mood, dancing getting better, my skill getting better everyone here soo sweet good day from the saddening start, found the Christmas and friendship spirit here that's for sure
Take care everyone stay positive bubbly and merry hugs
i didn't know we had to be to post in here. i thought we were allowed to mingle?
I put a smiley with a tongue sticking out, which means I'm not fully serious. You gals do what you want, as you have free reign of the forum.
BUT, I did want to point out that I made these threads to get guests started on topics if they didn't know what to post, not quite for us, as we already have our own threads. I mirrored them off of some of the boards and threads we already have, and those are what members should still mainly be using if there's no guests chatting, or else we'll all just end up in the guest area, which would defeat the purpose of having separate areas

I don't think it's because we're not allowed to mingle. It's just a distinction so that we know whether just anyone on the internet can see our posts, or just us girls. I like that the (G) is at the end of the thread titles, so that I know it's not limited to just us. I can share however much I want, or nothing at all. Putting the Wordle thread out there was a great idea, Mary. It's a pretty innocuous thread.
well i was kinda hoping if i posted it would get them talking.
and what's the point of having guest threads if you don't want us to mingle? i'm kinda confused here.
I said ";p" means I'm not serious. I was being playful.. having fun.. when I made that initial comment. But there is also truth to it because we're not guests, and these are threads where guests can post lol this should not be taken to mean you're not allowed to post in here if you're a member. If that were the case, then I would have moved the posts out of here
Again, nobody said not to mingle with guests. Nobody is telling anyone not to post in the guest threads.
As long as everyone is aware that's where they are posting, then it's fine, but some members may also not realize this is not threads for members if using the Recent tab (which is why the G is in there to hopefully help make the distinction)... but some might overlook that and just post where they see us posting without realizing it's not just us gals in there, and not everyone actually wants to engage with guests, so they could be doing it by accident. I already know that doesn't apply to you, though lol
With that said, I would still prefer that we do not create an issue where we end up neglecting threads that are just for us because we're holding conversations on the same topics in here instead (most won't want to post about the same thing twice). That's all I wanted to point out. It's not a problem yet, and it may never become a problem, but it's a potential problem that could happen, so I wanted to try to prevent it by bringing it up in advance in case it ever started going that way. It's just how my brain works... I think of things that may never happen and try to keep it from happening if I can, so please don't take it the wrong way xD
I don't know which section to choose for my question. Decided to write here. I have two children. Faced with the problem of accumulating children's things. if you have kids please share your experience.

Hi .. kids are like junk magnets mine were forever bringing stuff home. One time my son ended up with 3 bikes and a kayak in the garden...
I don't go to school now. I got an Associates (2 year) in General Studies. I work in IT and my jobs sent me to school to learn that stuff. I love computers and I'm a nerd on somethings. I don't do programming so I'm not that nerdy on computers.
Home life: I live with my mother-in-law, my wife and I have three children. The oldest is a boy, he's 17 now, next is 15, boy, and our little girl is 10. She's my princess. My wife is like the Queen, she is. I guess. I'm not a king , no way, I'm her servant, hahahah, but that is how we are now.
This is the first time I have lived with in-law. It's challenging but like the saying goes "it is what it is" whatever that means. why? why do we live with my wife's mom? It's because my son (we are in japan), has to go to high school and they have to select a school, take an entrance exam and it's a big deal. So he studied at night school almost daily to prep for this, and was able to get it. Now we are hoping son #2 will be able to do the same. Our children had small learning disabilities while going to the elementary school and that was why we had to put them in a night school (called "juku" just like extra school to help children learn).
That is our learning situation. Please feel free to ask me something, anything or nothing at all. I don't care.

Hello Dominic.
Night school was one of the best experiences I ever had. I attended night school for 5 years and never got bored. Your children will also one-day look back at their night school and general education with fondness. A lot of special memories are made during those times.

Thank you for saying that about the night school Popcorn&Candy I hope they do have and remember those good memories. I see a lot of children heading into the night schools and I"m like "dang, it must be difficult being a kid right now"

Night school is a very positive experience, Dominic: in fact, there are less problems for night school students than daytime classes. The atmosphere is more laid back and people are more at ease. Everyone knows they could be in front of the TV instead, so join together and make night classes as informative and productive as possible.
Personally, I much preferred night school to daytime classes.

I preferred full time at college as the comradeship was better. The problems I found with night school were being tired after a working day and also I was not keen on the travelling home afterward, in the dark on a cold frosty or snowy night. At least in the daytime there were more people about.

Herbal tea rocks! I do have a few decaf black teas, but I prefer the variety of flavours of herbal tea.
I don't want to take actual school courses now because I'm busy teaching and I'd be too tired in the evenings for night school. However, I'm still super interested in learning. Maybe once the kids are older and I'm close to an "empty nest"? In the meantime, I read a lot, research online, watch videos on fascinating subjects, etc. Usually pretty cheap, too, compared with formal education. Only issue is that there's no certifications, so I should look into how you can challenge things like that or find work based on your life experiences...

If you can choose now what you want to learn when the kids start to fly, you could start looking into the subject in a light way? That might set you up for the learning later.
