I'd like to see you present those arguments to a police officer when stopped for speeding.

Someone's understanding of the two is irrelevant. Therein lies one's concept of the two.

Methinks, time is the gap between two incidents, and space is the gap between two points. They are realities. That's how speed is calculated.
