There are old fashioned names that I don't like: like Gay - which is an actual name. It is an old name, too. Then there's Fanny. I know what it is short for, but that name is awful. I know there's a Fanny Blake - who is probably a great person - but I just don't like that name. There are other names that don't appeal. Like Fatima. Can you also imagine being called Bill Price? The teasing at school would be horrendous.
I went to school with a few, and I was semi-friends with one of them for a bit. Also, some of my students have my name. I'll sometimes have 2-3 of them at the same time, and it's funny to address another Heather via email because it looks like we're talking to ourselves.
I go with my preferred name which is quite unique. My birth name which I only use on signing a legal document is common and I know a lot who has the same name. It can also be used in daily conversation to mean something but fortunately not as unflattering like Karen or Fanny. I don't know anyone who are called the same preferred name as mine, therefore, I am maybe the only ___ in the whole country.

A former neighbor across the street is named Crystal...and she spells it the same way! (Believe it or not, there are a lot of different variations.) My ex and I each shared names with close neighbors. The next-door neighbor, who moved in while I was married to my ex, shares the same name as my ex.

Honey is a nice name. As is Crystal and Rose.
I love traditional English names, too. Elizabeth is a gorgeous name. I also love the name Marguerite. Roxanne is a cool name, too. Cassandra I like. And Caroline is a nice name. I could go on forever but there are so many beautiful names.

I have known a few Heathers. It is a popular scots name.

I met a nice Crystal yesterday when attending my dad's care conference. She even spells it correctly...rather, her parents did. She's much younger, which is no surprise. I'm one of the first.

I have met a few other ladies named Rebecca, but never had a chance to become close friends with them. Shame!
I was usually the only one in my class with the name. Still, sometimes people outside my class forgot and called me Rachel instead. Happened throughout the years growing up - everyone seemed to think "Oh, she's got an R name... Must have been Rachel!" That was a problem when I worked with a Rachel eventually, because then they had to remember which of us was Rebecca and which was actually Rachel.
