Hello. I've noticed a couple of threads with the Quick reply or quote selections aren't available. I wanted to reply but I couldn't. Does this mean that the thread is temporarily on hold (for review etc) or it is permanently closed for good?

It means they are closed but can be re-opened. Contact Heatherly, she can open them.

Thank you for your reply. It's okay. No pressing need on my part so I won't ask to re-open. It's good to know. I've seen this kind from other forums but there's a note to let everyone know that the thread is closed. Some put a reason why while others only say that the thread is closed. I think the latter is good enough.

Hm, I think there should be a note at the very top above the posts, but it's very brief. I think it will tell you to contact a moderator or me to help re-open any you want to contribute to. We do have some threads that are very old where the members who started it are no longer around anyway, so we do tend to just start new threads when that is the case :-) Threads automatically will be locked after a few years of no use, I have a handy plugin for that!

Oh, there's also a possibility that your member level is not high enough yet to post in some areas, particularly ones where there could be arguments. We reserve those sections for members above a certain post count that we know we can trust to behave and not cause issues while us mods are sleeping. If that's the case, then you will need 25 posts before you can join in to those areas (news, politics/religion). We've had some bad experiences with newbies joining and automatically going into those sections to be aggressive toward others. Sorry for any temporary inconvenience regarding that, but if you continue posting like you do, then you'll be able to join in those sections in no time!

I added a note in the threads regarding what post count one must have to participate now. I should have done that when I first made those changes, oops lol
