Two Jeremy Kyle Situations That Actually Happened To Me!

1. I suppose he never imagined you would just want simple friendship. I've sometimes wondered if single guys ever understand that girls could just want to be friends, nothing more. Oy! At least he could have waited a while longer before attempting to take things to another level.

2. I don't think it matters so much what the neighbours think, but your friend should always go back to where she lives and you could visit there when she needs your support. That would likely be much better for all involved.

The first scenario.. super awkward lol I'd stop contacting him because who knows what he'll tell your friend even if nothing happens between you two.

The second best friend claims to have been assaulted.

She telephoned me last night to say the above. She said she was sitting in the pub with three women drinking coca-cola. She then said she wanted me to pay for a taxi to take her to my apartment: because she was too scared to go to her own apartment.

She was not happy with my response. I told her:

1. There was nothing I could do
2. She'd simply have to return home after stopping off at mine
3. She needed to go home and face the music
4. That she was safe behind her apartment locked front door

What I did do was telephone Social Services Out-of-hours. I told them my friend had claimed to be assaulted and needed their help. I asked them if they could take her home: and just make her feel safer when returning to her apartment. I really told her she was not to come to my place: that she had to deal with the situation herself. She said to me nastily: "you're a really helpful friend, aren't you." That line took any sympathy I had.

She has now telephoned me over 20 times - including in the night - and I have not answered.

Why am I to blame? She is the person who wouldn't return to a perfectly safe and good apartment. What did she think? That the staff would open her front door and beat her up? She KNOWS that wouldn't happen. I certainly have nothing to feel guilty about. My apartment isn't a hotel, either.

Setting limits is not horrible, unless you're the recipient and you despise other people even having limits... Unfortunately, that can happen.

Stick to it and the friendship can become healthier, if she's willing.
