So, it seems when it rains it pours. I recently quit my job and it was foolish because I made really good money and it’s the only thing I love to do but I was basically accused of talking with a competitor and I just couldn’t shake that. I’m 40 years old (American)and am not only suffering from panic attacks from shear fear of losing everything now to the point where I’m having trouble getting back out there and it’s vital I do. On top of now being jobless I just received non-renewal letter on my apartment from these new property management people whom are in a different state, without a reason. I’ve always paid on time and I think it’s because I asked for a few repairs and they apparently didn’t like that IDK? Back story my Mom a few months ago went into cardiac arrest and suffered a non-traumatic brain injury. I didn’t think she was ever going to pull thru but miraculously she did which I’m so grateful for. However, her short term memory is really bad and her long term is skewed. So I just feel like I am struggling because I know what I need to do like now! I just need to get my confidence back. Whew! Sorry had to get all that out. Thought this forum here might help. At 40 it seems more difficult finding new work.
Are you able to ask for your job back? Maybe admit to some of the stresses in your life and that it made you act before really thinking it through. It's usually best not to quit a job unless you have another one lined up already, and for some reason, most places are only interested in you while you are working somewhere else!
My guess about the apartments is that they maybe plan on doing something else with it or charging a way higher amount than what you are locked in for. Some states have a set amount they are allowed to raise the rent each year, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing some type of loophole thing to get away with it.
At least you have some good news with your mom living through her ordeal, but everything does sound pretty stressful. Hopefully things will get better for you soon

I'd second trying to get your job back, if you really enjoyed it and miss it. Being prepared for that not happening is also smart.
You might need to spin what's happening to get a more positive look at this time in your life. Like thinking that your next rental could be far better than the current one, so it could be a good thing to be moving. And maybe there's a better job out there, possibly even working for yourself. Also, it's great that your mum survived her health issues, and you have more time to make memories with her - she may not do so well with recall, but you remember and love her through it all.
Big hugs for all the challenges you're facing. We'll be your cheerleaders when you need it!
Sometimes when things seem overwheling its handy to write a to do list and then tackle just one item on the list each day. You dont have to solve it in one day but just focus on that one thing then the next day something else.
That helps you break the problem into little rocks instead of it being a mountain you cannot climb.

I had to do this myself - things are piling up and getting overwhelming because it's all my "stuff," not things I can delegate at this point. I need a personal assistant! I can only do so many things at one time, so I am writing down what needs to be done and determining priority...
