Now I don't drink in secret: except coca-cola! LOL.
I am more of a secret candy bar consumer. I LOVE candy bars. I cannot get enough of them. They're even nicer than chocolate.
Maybe that is why I am called Popcorn&Candy!
I recently came across popcorn kitkats. They were really lovely. But as they were being sold at half price, I guess I won't see them again.
I have noticed that happens often. There have been lots of products which come and go in a flash. I sometimes wonder why, or whether it is just that I have strange taste
I always try things on the sale rack hoping to find something different I might like. When I do, I rarely find it again. I guess that's why it was on the sale rack.

Ocasionally I take a chance and buy such things in bulk. Things like packs of coffee, for instance the winter blend I bought one year. It's worth the risk and they lasted for months when varied by pack with other varieties.

I can too, but I have to be fairly confident that I will use them all.
I was the same as work. We used to use a cleanser called Dispray. The stores manager told me it was going cheap as the factory was selling off the last of the old stock. I looked at the use by date, calculated how many we would use before that date and ordered a few crates of the stuff.
Only one can was thrown out when it expired. My guesstimate was pretty good.
Bulk buying can often be a good idea for items that need to be stored. I tend to bulk-buy certain items. But not all the time.
You have to have storage space for buying in bulk, so I could understand if you didn't. I've got so many bookshelves and other entertainment items that I don't keep a lot of extra space for bulk-buying.
I buy paper products in bulk all the time...only one package at a time, though. Sam's Member's Mark toilet tissue comes in 45-roll packs, but I only buy 2-3 in a year. In 2020, I bought a 45-pack in January. In March, I was getting a little worried whether I could get any more, so I bought a bidet. By the time we had to buy toilet paper again, manufacturers had increased their production almost enough to meet demand.

I buy in the 24 roll size. It usually gets us over any panic buy as I buy another pack when we are down to about 10 rolls.

That's about what we normally do. It depends on prices though, but we usually have at least half a dozen at any time as a minimum.

I buy one at a time also and don'y rebuy until I het down to around 10 rolls or so. As long as the supply is stable I will continue with that plan.
Don't talk to me about Amazon! I have just gone through the hoops again when ordering something for OH. After dificulty avoiding the minefield with Prime mines I noticed that free postage was available if the goods were picked up from a local drop off point. On selecting this I almost did not notice that the premium paid for delivery was automatically checked.
