I tried to register with eBay today. I used my secure email address, my real name and other details. I received a few emails saying thank you for joining, etc. Then I got another email saying my account had been permanently suspended. For what? I used the username they gave me - or was just on the screen and one I didn't change - when registering and in the rejection email I got a code of AB245*
I believe someone used my name and email address to make purchases on eBay and I am worried about eBay charging me for their purchases when I made absolutely NO purchases. I never even sold anything on said website.
When you're using eBay, do double check your username and your email address. You don't want to be a victim of stolen identity.
*OK, I made that code up just now, as this is a public website. But I did receive a similar code.
As I don't sell anything on ebay I have never created an account. I have occasionally had hassles with sellers but luckily they were all sorted quickly. They appear to use trickery to push me into opening an account but, if I get too much hassle, I can always go elsewhere. That's what happened with Amazon.
I'm not sure it makes sense that someone has been using your email address without you getting emails about purchases through your email. You just made the account using the email in question, and I think it would have stopped you from creating a new account if the email was already used as well. I highly doubt this is a case of stolen identity.
One of the reasons they suspend you mentions they cannot verify your account information. Did you get an email to verify your account? Did you already try to go onto the account without first verifying it? Can be a simple fix, so just contact them to ask how to remedy the situation.

I have the same experience recently, also with FB and Amazon.

what did the email address look like in the email they sent you? can you copy and paste it? it might be spam that made it to your inbox. or you might have just had a phishing incident.
