One question it does raise is how would we feel being one of several wives. In weastern culture it is unusual so it's perhaps not easy, at least for me, to understand but I cannot imagine going along with it.

No polygamy to me. I just like how they come together during important ocassion.

It is seriously hard work, and not for the faint hearted. The relationship has to be rock solid for it to work. I reckon most marriages introducing it would collapse.

Yes, the entire village prepared for a royal wedding! I doubt such a todo is made for weddings of ordinary villagers.

I found it interesting that they used food for invitations. The amount of satay given was directly proportional to the invitee's importance.
