I am super-organized: I keep all my folders and sub-folders labelled clearly and year-by-year. I also do a major edit at the end of every year. I immediately slot emails into said folders once they arrive. Having a system like this works for me: because I do business online, as well as online shopping. I could not do my work if my email accounts were a mess.

If you don't organize your email accounts, I hope I've encouraged you to do so! It takes time, but is well worth the effort.

I tried that in the past at home. But I never kept it up.

As a manager of more than one department, I had to.

I organize my emails, too. Mainly the ones I need to use for work or other important things (banks, doctors, etc.)... but my more personal emails that receive all the spam, I don't have anything to organize for those really.

My assistant organizes my email for me, sometimes she answers them for me too. She is super organized.

For confdential email that I exchange within the leadership team or concerning legal issues, we send them through LastPass which requires a passcode to access.

I have to be so organized with my email accounts: I have business emails, online shopping, Internet forums... and the rest. If I did not keep my emails in their labelled folders and subfolders I would have to spend ages searching for emails I needed to read and reply to. Plus, I go through my email accounts at the end of every year. This means deleting old emails not needed anymore and re-organizing the folders.

I have 3 email accounts, so this takes some time. BUT it is worth taking the time to do so. With so much going on in my Internet life, I am very strict about this.

I don't have too many issues with junk mail but I would advise everyone to keep an eye on the junk mail folder. I found an email I had missed in the folder the other day. Even though the sender was in my contacts the system had junked the email I was wanting to see. Beware of automated systems!

They have this trick. When you ask to be unsubscribe, sometime they ask you to put down your email, then they pass along your email to someone else to spam you.

As I don't use my mobile much, when a site inevitably requests my phone number I always use my mobile and never the landline. That way nuisance calls are kept to a minimum. Under normal circumstances, unless I need to use it the mobile is switched off.

Im on a dont call me register so I dont get the lottery /energy company calls. But nowdays if an unsolicited call comes in my phone company flash it as possible spam so I dont even have to answer. If I do and it is spam I block it straight away. Sorry but the begging charity calls and the double glazing salepeople dont get far with me..
