I know my feet are my friends. I have artrose in one and Ive had a heel spur which was so painful it made walking a torture . But I had shockwave therapy for that and luckily it worked. I now have a set of exercises that help prevent returning problems and I know who to call if I do need more treatment.
I keep my feet in good order but I have very dry feet ( they dont sweat) sounds great but it means they crack and spilt easily. So Ive got a good foot cream and special socks at night to help keep my feet moist.
I wear good shoes espcially my walking boots and shoes, and I wear supportive insoles.
Walking every day with our dogs mean my feet need to be in good condition to cope with all those kilometers trudging round the countryside.
I have been wearing shoes with sole support around the house... it seems to be helping with any foot issues I was having. I guess bare foot walking isn't good for me after a while.
I could probably use an electric pumice something or other, too lol using a little handheld one is a lot of work sometimes, and I don't have the best grip strength at times... and then my fingers get stiff if bent too long!

I have been impressed by the warm water foot massagers, my feet felt very relaxed afterwards. But if you are interested in that, wait a month, as I have just ordered andrea a wax footbath. It is only slightly more expensive, and more labour intensive, but come well recommended. I could do a review.
Try NOT to walk around bare footed, that is just begging to catch some fungus that can be hell to get rid off.
Also do NOT wear fuzzy slippers, again, breeding ground for fungus. Gets slippers or house shoes that are nonporous
Like flossing, make it a habit to clean between your toes as well.
Last tip, if you take showers in a tub, buy Palmolive dish soap and a bottle of bleach. Before you start the shower, put the stopper on your tub so the water does NOT drain. Squirt some Palmolive (as if doing two loads of normal dishes) into the bottom of the tub and then put in two full caps of bleach (2 tablespoons). Now, start the shower and jump in, your feet will soak in the Palmolive and light bleach mix as your other soaps and shower water mix and dilute the bleach mixture. This really kills any and all fungus on your feet and in between your toes but is not too harsh for your skin since it dilutes very very quickly.

You have just stripped every solitary piece of natural fauna from your skin. Anything could attack your skin.

Please drop the bleach.
I guess the question becomes, is "natural" fauna on your feet good??? Does natural fauna somehow protect your feet? And if so, why don't they sell this natural fauna and put it in lotions, etc?

Thanks for the tip Harriet, but I can't see myself doing this.

You can take a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

That's for sure here in Florida. Never walk barefoot in the grass, I have and ended up with some pretty ugly blotches on my feet.

I have fairly sensitive skin. I find that if things are too clean or I am too thorough in washing it does actually make things worse. Yes to clean but beware of destroying your natural oils. It will likely upset things sooner or later.

Although I have a couple of cleaners containing bleach, I've never had a bottle in my home. I probably never will. There are other disinfectants besides bleach.
