I have also cleaned my nails with soap & a nail brush. I HATE long, grubby nails. No: mine are always manicured. With or without nail polish!

I lasted two days trying to keep my nails painted on my own. So much work! Of course, I had missed a step the first time (cleaning with polish remover) and finger-brushing my hair was taking off the polish in one or two large pieces. So weird!

I will plan to get a manicure for the pampering, but I might just lose that good look within a day or two because I'm not just sitting around being waited on.

Right now, I have short nails. We'll see how long they'll go this time around - I was actually finding them getting in the way for typing just before I trimmed them. I'm okay with that problem if it means I get to trim without an actual breakage occurring first. Healthier nails than they used to be, I bet.

My nail polish was a good few days old, so I removed it and cut down my nails extra-short again. I also am still using soap and a nail brush daily. Hand cream also keeps my nails healthy.

Anyhow, I'll never have long nails: they are a cut hazard and feel uncomfortable for me.

My nails are not always painted, but they are short and groomed.

My reasons for doing it myself are 1) they take too long 2) nail shop is not my kind of place 3) they claim they sterelize the equipments but did they really?

I don't go to nail salons either, alsr. They're not for me.

Home-done manicures look as great as salon manicures. Plus, you get to change your colour more often. Personally, I love my Mermaid Fin colour: it's seriously gorgeous. BUT I have been told my nails are too short. I LOVE having extra-short nails, though.

Anyhow, I shall always look after my nails. I especially like cleaning my nails daily with soap & a nail brush. I am very hygienic.

I'm often guilty of not wearing gloves when it would be a good idea too. There are many different types though to fit many different situations.
