I still feel slightly off. But a good friend of mine - not Vicky - is very ill today. She's got a sore throat. She's running a temperature and is sleeping a lot. She's extremely sick. I telephoned her this evening and discovered this. I quickly said goodbye. I just hope time makes her feel better. Because she is a good person and does listen: mostly without judgement.
Being sick is awful for anyone and I hope my friend recovers soon.
Candy I hope you guys are ok over there. Seems you've been sick a lot.
As for me not too bad today. This round of Covid is much milder in comparison. I need a bath or something later this evening.
Thank you, Mary.
The woman I'll call Sally is extremely sick. I am worried she'll need hospital treatment. But she may recover at home within the week.
I must say, I feel sick myself. It isn't a nice feeling and actually is horrible. I just hope Sally gets better and I fight off this weird headache/temperature thing.
Mixed messages this morning. I am well enough to work tomorrow, but I just called one of my favourites. Len, was a retired boxer, and a really lovely lad. It seems he passed away last week at 94.
He lived in the rough end of town, and one day I was getting some verbals off a couple of drunks as I came out of his house. In that end of town, you have to give it back. I then noticed out the corner of my eye, that Len had come out to check the gate was shut. He was now squaring up in his boxers poise to see how this ended.
A real gentleman. I have asked to be kept informed and I will try and get to his funeral. I don't normally..

I'm sorry to hear that, a_muppet. At least he lived many long good years. You must miss him. But the funeral should be a good goodbye and a sign of respect for a man that lived 94 years.

Its always sad when regulars pass away. Sometimes the family remember us but often they have no idea of our part in their family members life..
I always got attached to the old farts at the nursing home and then when they died it would make me cry. I could never be a nurse cuz I can't manage that professional distance.
