Sounds as if you are busy investing in making your home into your own personal little Palace. That's a good thing. My husband always used to say that even when returning from the most luxurious holiday you should turn the corner to home and think 'oh wonderful I'm home' and not 'oh bah I'm home'

Yes it does sound like you are making a good job of things and are getting good help
I have a saying about holidays Cassie - 'When returning from a holiday it does take another holiday to recover' lol That's probably more about the travelling though.

I think it's emotion that makes a home: rather than a pristine interior. It is where there are memories of happy times and just nostalgia of friends & family in general.
I certainly run a tight ship, though: I like to keep my home my personal place where I can relax and just potter around in. Where I don't have to follow other people's house rules: I can choose whether I use a thick face cream or what TV programme to watch. I don't have to answer to anybody.

I shall be cleaning my bathroom and kitchen on Monday morning. Lord knows, those rooms need a clean.
I still keep my home tidy though, and regularly wash the laundry. I am not lazy. I also have sorted through my wardrobe: including my chest of drawers. I have gotten rid of a fair number of items. Those clothes were simply never worn. It's good to have a wardrobe cleanse, too.

It's nearly time for summer clothing to be put away in storage (a little room accessed from outside) and so that has me thinking about decluttering and such. I'll need to take away electronics recycling (like the old microwave and one fan that doesn't oscillate properly anymore) and we can rotate summer and fall/winter items in our storage room, so summer is at the back and the rest easily reached at the front of the room. (Including all my Christmas decorations! Yay!)
That likely means my bedroom closet could use some attention, so I'm sure that it only has what I need for fall and winter... It often feels like a lot of work to get these seasonal switchovers done, but the sense of accomplishment and gained space is priceless!
I have my new bathroom walls today ! the tiling hasn't gone in yet but the walls are up they are level and they are waterproof so the refit can start..

I am washing my laundry today. But it is strange being back in my apartment: I spent the night at a friend's house and her home is gorgeous. It is straight out of a lifestyle magazine. I absolutely love my friend's house. And her garden is beautiful, too. It must be wonderful to live in a house like that. It certainly gave me a different perspective of my apartment. Because I could see what you all meant about choosing to live in a house.
However, I still love my apartment. It is easier to maintain and all that gubbins. Still, I miss my friend's house.
So , dilemma.. We have white subway tiles laid lengthwise in a classic brick pattern. But the grout.... White or grey?
The room is tiled from floor to ceiling, the suite wc, basin, bidet, etc is all white so OH thought it might be good to have grey grout lines just to break the white and make it look less like an O,R..
It's difficult to visualise but maybe a quick simulation of the computer would help you decide, or even similar examples of tile and brickwork? My view is that either way it may appear too 'in your face' and I wondered about having say the lower part of the room done with grey and the upper with white to break it up a bit.

Honestly Ive looked at photos and they both have merits, but Im selling this house so I am tryng to figure what appeals to most people and not just me.
I love my bidet we have installed them in all our houses but my neighbour didnt understand it. She wants a bathroom that looks lovely as a result she has a bathroom with a freestanding bath, lovely but you cant use it because its on a wooden laminate floor and splashes would ruin the floor. So she continues to use her downstairs shower! For me its all about funcionality first and design later.

I can see your dilemma as first impressions are important.
I would love a bidet too although we would need major changes to accomodate one. I don't know how common they are where you are but I do agree with functionality. It's a good added selling point.

I'd probably vote gray grout. I have bathroom tiles with gray grout.. but the tiles have a hint of gray splashed in them, so I guess that makes it an easier decision lol

Last year, when all the crazies and profiteers were hoarding toilet paper, I bought a bidet which sits on top of the toilet. It's the best thing, ever! If you don't have an outlet nearby, you can run an extension cord (provided you can do that without it being unsightly). It didn't require major changes, just replace the toilet seat and cover with the BB-2000.

I love my bathroom: it is small but luxurious. I clean my bathroom twice a week, weekly. I shower every morning, too, so this means my bathroom requires a regular clean.

My apartment is quaint and cute!
It sounds like it gets one lol.
Have you seen that 'Four in a bed' program on TV? If so you'll know about the shower trap in the drain. Do you check that regularly?

Yes, I absolutely do. It is one of my main cleaning jobs in my bathroom.
Anyhow, my dad bought me a new washer/dryer yesterday. It'll be delivered in the week. Hurrah!
Update, we decided on light grey grout to contrast the white..
Its funny I love the subway /metro tiles in the kitchen in black and white. But here in the bathroom , it really reminds me of London underground or public toilets from my youth. Im glad this house will be sold on and I wont have to live with them too long.
In my next house I will go with a much nicer larger tile..

I see you have gone for grey. That was my choice, but I would have chosen white as a sales feature.

I would use white grout. I hope you meant the tiles from floor to ceiling is in the shower emclosure since that's the only place tiling should be except for the kitchen backsplash.

You can paint the wall in different colors.
No it's normal here to tile a bathroom entirely from floor to ceiling it is sealed so that there are no problems if water gets on the floors.
I actually don't like painted bathrooms nor do I like carpets in any rooms like bathrooms toilets or kitchens.

I am also against carpet anywhere in the house since we mob the floor quite frequent.
I notice that most European bathrooms are completely tiled. Here we use glossy/eggshell paints that seal moisture and we can actually wipe the walls if they are dirty. I use eggshell for bathrooms and kitchen and semigloss for the entire house.
