From somone of today: or even many years ago.
Who did YOU worship and just fancy the pants off of? My ultimate celebrity crush is James Dean Bradfield: the lead singer of the Manic Street Preachers. He is GORGEOUS. And utterly hot.
It is only recently I've noticed him. But I love him in the music video "Everything Must Go". I also love watching him in interviews on YouTube. James is fabulous, darling.
As a kid I loved Tony Curtis.. I saw him in Trapeze and Some like it hot and thought he was so handsome.. Imagine my delight when one day while I was out playing, a car with dark windows pulled up and an American voice from the vback called 'hey kid can you give me directions' I walked over to the car and there he was in the flesh and just as gorgeous as on screen.
Hm... when it comes to "crushes" (not sure I'd call it that).... they would be the ones who I think are attractive but seem like good people IRL. I don't go out of my way to actually learn anything about celebrities.. so if anything it would have to be information I overheard or saw while randomly browsing the internet lol
So, one example would be Ian Somerhalder. I think he's cute, and I have seen that he cares about the environment and animals. I don't follow him on social media or anything or keep up with what is going on in his life, though.
There's probably others I could use as an example, but can't think of them right now ;p
I think that in most cases the crushes I had when I was younger were more with characters portrayed on the screen rather than the actors themselves. I had, and still have to some extent, a very vivid imagination.

I also used to fancy Michael Hutchence - and more recently - Bono. However, I have completely gone off both of these men. I do not know why. I just don't fancy them - or what they were - anymore. Perhaps it's because I've grown-up and can see them for what they are: people who play instruments and stand on a stage. Not people who are god or the ultimate divinity.
My feelings for them are definitely gone. Plus, their looks faded over time. I much prefer young Bono: but it isn't possible to go in a time machine. Perhaps it was the fantasy of what they were, rather than the reality. They can be equally human as any man on the planet. Besides - even if I met Bono - he'd still love his wife. And what would his wife think if I slept with him? She wouldn't be happy, would she? Plus, Bono would only be using me.
All-in-all, it is best to keep such people as a fantasy: even James Dean Bradfield.

I never got it ..I never understood it. Girls screaming and swooning at the site of the Popstar it's just a fantasy.
I had a couple of friends who would camp outside stings house because he might come home they might see a flash of his face as you drove past in the car ba0 it complete waste of time. Then when a band was playing here in my hometown my friend flew all the way from London just so she could see them, again I just found it a complete silliness..
To admire and actor or film star to be impressed by their work and to feel flattered to meet them is something entirely different but this whole screaming and fantasising and camping outside of houses waiting by stage doors just seems slightly embarrassing.

Absolutely.
What would you say to them?
You can't talk about their art, coz it must get boring for them.
So, you are left looking around before suddenly blurting out, as the silence has lasted too long.

You only ever get to see a flash of those celebrities. They have their big cars and own airplanes: they don't mix with the ordinary. Plus, standing in some crowd, wishing the celebrity will notice you, is a waste of time: pure and simple.
And even if I met a celebrity, their money still would not belong to me. Their glory and fame wouldn't become my glory and fame. They are people: end of. And you can meet people everywhere.

It is down to the atmosphere though - mass hysteria!

I've met loads of celebrities and a couple of minor royalty. Really... no different to anyone else. Somewhere really nice summer so far up their own backside they never see sunlight.
Roy kinnear ( 70s film star ) used to live near us and in the summer he would often hang out near the park with his son Rory and daughter Katrina, he would buy ice creams for us he was a beautiful beautiful man who sadly died far too early. Everytime I see Rory on TV I just think I remember when you were born and how proud your dad was and now youre the spitting image of your dad.
I personally don't find any of the male celebrities gorgeous or super attractive, some look good but most got the attitude and personality that wipe out what little they have.

For the most part their attitude is a big turn off to me.

I have a serious crush on James Dean Bradfield from the Manic Street Preachers. But I am starting to wonder why bother? I'll never meet him. It is better to have a crush in the real world. I've got zero chance of having a relationship with the man. Plus, he's married with children. He's not exactly going to knock on my door and introduce himself, is he?
I don't bother fancying him now. As attractive as he is, it won't happen.

If these people want me to listen to their music/singing, they need to change the way they look. Very unappealing to me. Why did someone purposely make themselves look like that?
