Today has been strange running about getting things sorted for the old people. I wont be around tomorrow either Im off to Germany. Its possible the borders will close again next week if things on the covid front dont improve so Im off to get my Christmas shopping now!

It is very early: and the reason is because I had a horrible nightmare and don't want to sleep. Sleep and have another nightmare? I think not. Plus, dreams are less scary in daylight.
Anyhow, I have written and posted a new poem onto social media. It is a good poem. I have also removed old nail polish. Afterwards I cut and filed down my nails. I have been on Pinterest this morning, too: Pinterest is rather addictive. I much prefer that site to Instagram: I just don't bother with Instagram.
Anyhow, when you're on here later this morning, I say good morning!
I looked at the clock at six and thought - No! I gave it another fifty minutes lol. It's just before clocks change here and the dark mornings are noticeable. The shock comes after Saturday when teatime becomes night time.
I am not sure how today will be with all the storms predicted. Sometimes I hate watching the news and weather. They alwyas make things sound like it could be the end of the world.
Home safe and sound although we had a couple of scary idiot moments.. A truck decided to overtake another truck then decided to pull into a gap that wasnt there and almost caused a pile up.
The we had an idiot German who joined the motorway at breakneck speed cut between two cars nearly ending up in the central barrier..
Both times it was very close and I just wonder how long it will be before we get hit by one of these fools..
But we got the shopping and I treated myself to a new casual jacket.
I'll be busy today. I have a meeting taking up what is usually my lunch and exercise time mid-day =/ pooey.
That is poo.
I recall at the hospital, our directorate meetings were always at lunch time. To make up for losing our lunchtimes, we were given sandwiches and tea or coffee.
Then the cutbacks came, and the lunch was gone. But we still missed out on the break.

Oof, that would be rough if constant. I have some time for a late lunch, but I have to eat fast and then back to work lol I was sure to put together a lunch yesterday for today to save time.

It averaged about once a week, not a disaster, but it did make you feel a little resentful.

I remember that well! I suppose the only good point about this was when I was on the manditory and other training courses. They usually finished much earlier than my usual finishing time so my working hours did not really change. There were usually morning , and sometimes afternoon, breaks as well which I didn't usually get during normal working in more recent years. The sandwiches you mention for these used to be a fairly good buffet with fruit, crisps and things too. Sadly now gone. Departmental meetings were changed from morning to lunchtime just as you say though. The best training course I attended was one jointly presented with Social Services which consisted of a three course meal in a good hotel (where the course was presented). I presume council services went the same way as health? Probably never again

Early days we used to get a piece of gateaux.
We actually used to moan about that, coz it was always Black Forest gateaux. lol

Just remembered, my own department meetings used to have large buffets, as I would call a supplier, or pharmacy sales man, and tell him if he brought lunch, he could have ten minutes at the end to talk about their products.
Ordered groceries this morning to arrive by mid afternoon. Will be eating candy this weekend... and beyonddd! Maybe will watch movies.. don't know. Likely will play some video games, though!
I bought some candy for Halloween (for us, not for giving out).. some of it is healthy versions.. like healthier version of peanut M&Ms and snickers... but then I bought Reeses peanut butter cups and butter fingers, too. Their ingredients aren't too bad these days compared to some other stuff.

I did a bit of cleaning as part of my Saturday, since we hadn't got it all in as a family this week. I also went on the hunt for story files on computer, cloud, or backup. They were actually not too buried on the backup drive, but the oldest spotted them later in the day when I mentioned it. Oopsie! Feels much better to have them back on my laptop, and I'm also going to print out my cousin's 2010 NaNo novel, too, since she sent that to me back then. Not sure what other projects she finished or had on the go, but I should ask her parents if they want to self-publish at some point since she didn't get to that before cancer took her.

I like Reese's because I figure the mix of PB and chocolate takes down the dairy and sugar content to a better level for me. I'm trying to keep dark chocolate in mind when I buy, but milk chocolate always calls me...
Maybe? If anyone shows up at the Zoom meet tomorrow, it'll be book club at my place, but other than that, it's just another day to me. (Well, not quite: it's also the 14th anniversary of bringing my first baby home. Awww.)

Trader Joe's sells dark chocolate peanut butter cups by the pound, which are pretty good. I think it's one of their top sellers, even.
Yesterday was a bit wet around here so I didn't go out. I took the opportunity to sort out some of my art things. I am organising my things so that I have a kit ready to go when we have visits out for 'en plein air' next year. Yet another early move
