I do. I have no doubt in my mind they exist. Their energy and white light is very relaxing. I doubt even smoking weed you'd feel that kind of relaxing energy.
I don't know about other religious beliefs, but angels are real.
I don't believe in much of anything. However, I can't prove these things don't exist just as much as I can't prove they do, so I'm generally neutral about the existence of such things.

Broadly speaking, if something denies the laws of science, I find it easy to disbelieve.

Pretty much the same here although, with my imagination, I don't rule anything out. One parallel is with angels and ghosts. Very similar maybe. Visions from a parallel reality? The brain does seem to randomly link memories and ideas and sometimes come up with very strange realistic visions. Some dreams I have seem so realistic but can never be true but I still am pushed into thinking that the event really happened.

We lived in a house with some really strange goings on.. Still I refuse to belive in ghosts in the commonly accepted way , time gliches or something maybe but apperitions of souls ? No I dont buy it.
As for vivid dreaming where dreams seem real yes I have them and they can be exhausting and traumatic. I got up on Monday and checked my FB , I was happy to see that one of my friends was still alive although a little shocked because as far as I knew she had drowned and her body had been pulled from the lake I saw it happen..
That is how graphic and real those dreams get that I feel the pain when Im hurt and I have to check to make sure people are alive. I often wonder if that might be an answer to some peoples supposed visions..
As for the angels classic white with wings etc we call great egrets angels... Ever seen them mass and come into land? They really do look like decending angels...
The problem with ghosts, is one of very simple physics. If they exist on any plane whatsoever, visible, aural, or movement, then they are using energy. If they are using energy, then they must be taking it in. How?
If they are not eating food to produce energy, then they must be solar or wind powered.

Solar powered don't be daft.... We all know that they are fed by the light of the full moon.

I am glad I started this thread. Regardless of whether angels exist or not I enjoyed reading all your responses! It is a fascinating subject.
I do also think the brain IS a powerful machine and its functions can trick a person into believing they've seen a ghost/angel/whatever. I have no proof that angels exist myself: and will never be able to prove it. But I do believe in an ultimate god. I don't believe in false gods or gods of Greek mythology, though. I really don't know what god is - or could be. I wouldn't be able to prove it, anyway. I just can't help feeling there IS some sort of higher power.
Again, I don't follow any whack religion. I just believe in some sort of God and angels.

Yes, I usually lean toward disbelief in those cases, but a lot of strange things exist as it is... Our entire existence is already weird lol the planets... everything. That's why I can't fully rule anything out.

Thats a common picture around here. Egrets everywhere.

I hope your not confusing them with vampires and werewolves? lol...
As an atheist I sometimes envy those of you who do have faith. It must be nice to think that there is someone or something out there, waiting for you, looking over you, protecting you. It must be comforting to think that after you leave this world your journey will continue in some other form.
For me and many like me it is simply that we have this time, this life, this one chance and then we are gone and the only way we remain immortal is the love, memories and thoughts or influence we have left on others.

I sort of agree with you, but religious people rarely seem any happier for it...
Religion is an argument which no one wins. I was brought up christian but I looked around and noticed there were so many other large groups of people following other religions. I do know that many of them are basically the same, but with a differing viewpoint, in having one god but, with my love of people, I cannot go against people because of specific religious views. There are too many people dismissing others just because of their different views.
I keep an open mind, being predominantly spiritual rather than religious, but do feel, at least locally, that the church does much good at times and the followers are welcoming.

I agree witht this. No one can win and argument when it comes to religion.
What works for one, does not work for the other. Whether someone believes something and another believes something else, that is their prerogative. Nothing anyone says or does can change someone's beliefs. Even if we think they're totally wrong, we can't do anything about it. Because there is so much religious views banded about, everyone has an opinion of who is right and who is wrong, when there is no point.
Just let people believe whatever they want. It's their problem if they're wrong.
I was brought up catholic, and I used to worry about my protestant friends. Obviously they were going to burn, for following a false god. Our priest wouldn't lie about such a thing!

Ghosts? Maybe they are using "dark energy" as a propellant.
Seriously though, life is a puzzle, to me anyway. Atoms coming together spontaneously yet into highly ordered organic molecules is hard to explain. Mother nature prefers disorder.

I am not afraid Cassie, I kind of " what's that?", then I move on.
I do vaguely remember a time when I wondered more about such things. I did relax in the though that we maybe always assume such beings, if they exist, are nasty and out to do harm. This is maybe made worse by the movies. I thought that, if they exist, they are maybe as equally likely to be friendly or maybe even more so. Why not? That being so I lost my fear of the unknown to a very great extent. When I was little I never had what is described as the imaginary friend but I did have very real dreams that I played out (I could control my dreams).
I'm actually quite interested in angelology and I do believe in angels. I feel like that pretty much makes me immune to all the other pests that may be wandering around trying to hurt me. Of course this is all theoretical, because in reality, who knows what's going on, but it's always better to be on the safe side. *shrug* Not to mention a lot healthier than trying to screw up your lungs by smoking.
I guess more people believe in aliens than angels and have no trouble believing in them, but I find that a bit funny and double-standard-y. People will say, well the universe is so big, we can't be all alone in it. Well what if? What if in this infinite universe, we are the only ones? Anything is possible.

I think the difference between aliens and angels is that aliens are or may be actual living beings that simple orginate from another world..
Angels are considered to be of a godly spirit world so if one doesnt believe in god or the spirit world it makes picking and choosing to believe in angels demons ghots etc a bit double standard..
