People believing you have to smoke and drink alcohol to be an adult.
[br
I have lost count of the number of people who tried to get me to drink. Id ask for oj and be told ' I'll just slip a vodka in that shall I ' Even telling them I was driving didnt stop them ' oh one wont hurt' a few times I said 'I bet you would feel different if it was your child I ran over after just one drink' Other times I told people ' I'd love one but I'm on antibiotics if I even drink a little bit I'll be puking all over the place' that works really well at dinner parties and parties in people's houses of course they didn't want me puking on their carpet. But I still don't understand why people cannot accept it when you say no thank you.

Speeders...especially those speeding through school zones. In a similar vein to Cassie's previous post, they would be the first ones to sue the pants off someone who hit their little darling while speeding through a school zone.
Thinking of speeders.. Those mothers or parents in general who insist that their child is a 'good boy' even when their child has been caught red handed by police doing something wrong.
A case here recently was three teenagers 14 16 and 17 who took the keys to a hire car that a family member had hired and went speeding around the village late at night. In a bend they lost control of the car it hit a tree, two of them died. The father of the driver was interviewed and with tears running down his face he insisted his son was a good boy...
Maybe I'm old fashioned but good boys don't steal cars, don't crash them , and don't kill their friends.

A friend of mine has a female relative who ended up in hospital with life changing injuries due to being in a car which was 'borrowed' by a teenager from his parents. The youth didn't even come clean after the crash, saying that one of those who died was driving. I don't think the case has been sorted yet due to all the legal issues and recovery of those involved. I think that the girl will have mental issues all her life because her friend died beside her
Remembering from my teenage years there were some, mainly boys, who had been introduced to driving by their fathers and wanted to show off their skills. It only takes a drop or two of alcohol and there they go.

For obvious reasons I cant give this a thumbs up .. I really dont think teenagers understand.
For my son it was fate and a sense of duty that saved him. Friends had invited him to a halloween party, but at the last minute his boss phoned and asked him to work because one of the cooks had called in sick 10 minutes before the restaurant opened.. My son felt that he couldnt let his boss struggle doing two jobs alone so he went into work..
The car he would have been travelling in ended up upside down in a canal. No one died but one of the girls ended up paralyzed from the waist down as she was half thrown from the car as it flipped over.. Of course the young driver had been drinking.
As the old saying goes ,, there but for the grace of God go I...

When I was a teenager, it wasn't yet classed as stupid, so I was often driven around by people over the limit.
So simple yet irritating and potentially dangerous but placing a bag on the floor and not noticing that a handle loop is right in the path of where you walk. The times I have been tripped by this
But I still don't understand why people cannot accept it when you say no thank you.
This is it! Why sdo people place so much importance on alcohol? Sure: alcohol is nice and is a social thing to relax people, but not everyone drinks. Not everyone wants to risk being over the limit: especially when driving. I know I don't want to sit in a car when the driver has been drinking. Plus, some people have had bad experiences with alcohol: perhaps their parents drank or they were in a car accident with a drink-driver.
I know I am focusing on drink-driving, but it IS an issue that people take for granted. If someone wasn't walking in a straight line, would you really want them behind the wheel of a two tonne metal car?

I went down with a smack on new years eve three years ago, the culprit was not a bag but one of those wire loops used to go round boxes or crates it was left on the pavement and of course in the dark I didnt see it.

Me too, I'm ashamed to say. And on some occassions by a guy who was on ecstasy tablets too. I am lucky not to have paid dearly for my stupidity

I definitely see no humour in this: you must've been badly bruised and even injured.
I once had a lucky escape: I was walking in the dark and my head connected with a metal pole. I could've been killed if I had hit it with more force. I left with only a bruised head, thank god.
Another lucky escape: I was sitting in the back of a car with my friends when youths threw a rock through the back windscreen. The windscreen smashed into pieces. THANK GOD I had my back to that window. I could've been blinded or given a head injury. I will never forget the danger those youths put me and my friends in.
I don't think it is very funny: when my sister fell, she ended up with a broken arm and in a lot of pain. And you're not a fool for others being so careless.

Occasionally asking a "dumb" question is necessary. If you're asking silly questions all the time: sure, you're probably wrong in doing so. But if you're asking - or dealing with - someone whom you need to clarify events/conversations/whatever with, you must ask questions that seem dumb from the outside.
Dumb questions are sometimes good to break the ice. Appearing too clever can tend to put people on the defensive as they see threat.
I don't think I can do a dumb question on purpose, but I can certainly accidentally reveal my lack of understanding of a subject!
And I really don't want to have to hide it if I am knowledgeable about something, but I do try not to be obnoxious about it. We all have our areas of expertise, and I don't want to give the impression that I think I'm superior because of that. I am trained in some things and just curious enough to study up in others!
I don't care if people think my questions are dumb, if I need to understand it, I will ask the questions, I would rather ask dumb questions than staying dumb.

Respect!
That is precisely what we should be doing, but it does take some nerve at times.

But my sister is still my biggest annoyance though
Sisters are not easy. In fact, I think I annoy my sister: rather than the other way around! I do need things to be repeated sometimes and I can go about things like a bull in a china shop. Still, I get things mostly right!
