when you were born

My parents were very young when I was born and I think my grandmother's both thought they could boss my dad about... oh dear they were wrong!


Mum and dad had not settled on a name for me when of my grandmother's turned up with cards to invite people to the christening of Joan Elisabeth Ellen Mary. My dad asked who the hell is that? And my grandmother explained that was the names that she and my other grandmother had chosen for the baby ( me)..
My dad was so angry he said either you cancel that christening or I go to the town hall and I have her officially registered as Zoe Mercedes..

Well Grandma backed down and I didn't end up being called Zoe Mercedes although sometimes I would quite like it.

Mary Margaret *gags*
Mary Frances - ah yes...the nun name...that's the money one.
55 yrs. later...it came true. Thanks Mom!

Boy am I glad she didn't name me something like Little Richard...

I am not a great fan of my name.

Despite every other person's opinion.

Though a bf a few years back out of the blue asked me if I had thought of changing it.

"Why!"

He kindly replied "It's an old woman's name. Like June."

"I like the name June, I have a friend called June!"

Cheeky twat.

Every woman in my family has Anne as middle name. When I got married, I decided to drop my first and used my middle name as my first name.

My middle name too,  dad gave in on there having to be a saints name ( Catholics)
