I told a friend to open a building society account as they were about to go public. He put in £100, 3 weeks later, they went public and sent him a cheque for about £1000, I forget the exact sum. He bought me a small chocolate bar.

He likes to hold on to things like that to use for emergencies really unless it's worth a whole bunch. We have never had that happen so far... but who knows, this might get close to us having to make such a decision one day.
