Peter Sellers suffered mental health problems (as well as drug and alcohol addictions) his children were often the brunt of his somber and unpredictable moods.
Having lived with a mother who suffers severe bouts of depression and a father who had Bi-polar I felt the pain those children had suffered.
While the world adored their father and laughed at his jokes they knew the truth and were unable to tell anyone.
Last night too tired to concentrate and too early for bed I watched a rom com Christmas film called Last Christmas, set in London with a girl working in a Christmas shop and a handsome stranger..Plus Emma Thompson as the overbearing Croatian mother
All set to the soundtrack of George Michael /Wham.
If you like George its a nice singalong. If you dont then really dont bother the film is just a time filler..

Oh, I did know that. I have never boasted about my memory, it gets too embarrassing sometimes.
I have a close friend who had the exact same story, miserable father, who the rest of the world took to be a lovely guy.

I didn't know that at all. Things are easily hidden from the public.

Indeed. Sometimes maybe its better not to look too closely at celebs lives... Another one who makes my skin crawl is Woody Allen...
I have been watching and enjoying, but in an uncomfortable way, Great Canal Journeys.
It is 3 series of two elderly actors going along the canals of the UK and France.
He, Timothy West, is an actor, he is full compus mentos, but elderly and not very fif She, his wife, Prunella Scales is a comedy actress, she was Sybil in Fawlty Towers. She is also elderly, but fit. She is also early dementia.
It is really interesting.
This is a full episode. Check out the comments. They are really accurate.
I used to enjoy big brother, both versions. But they eased off on the celebs, and it became mostly another self indulgent celebrity show. Then they spent too much time interfering with the ordinary people setting them up.
When it was less contrived it was a lot better.
The celebs were particularly interesting as they didn't actually know who they were. Were they their public persona, or themselves? Or somewhere in between?

The PBS "NOVA" program has a new series (to me anyway) "The Planets". Really quite good.
Most importantly it reveals in some detail current theories on how the planets have evolved and what changes are likely to occur in the far distant future.
Shocking, not one mention of man-made global whatever...BRAVO!

So many of them fell flat on their faces.
Cherry, I've actually never watched it.
If you get a good series, it can be really fascinating.
