If it's not raining a lot on the weekend, I'm going to plan on these things (already):
- washing the car by hand (though I do like our car washes in town) - going for a hike - reading - more puzzle building! - Star Trek (TOS) at night, or more episodes of The Chosen
I don't think I have ever used a car wash. I haven't thought about the weekend yet although it is likely to be pretty much as usual. We plan to visit our son one weekend soon as it is his birthday next week. It was his wife's birthday last week so, now lockdown is lessened, we can plan a little.

I really should wait until a weekday, since the boys like washing the car. Awesome!
Hooray to visiting! When it's time to drop off my dad's birthday gift, I'll stay outside and maybe get to chat about the flowers in their yard. Longer visits will probably resume later this year when we have most of the population vaccinated.
Now that the city's planning department did not approve our extension plan, I will have to meet with the GC/Architect/PE team on Plan B this weekend, the only time I have for personal planning. I will not have the U shape house I want, might have to settle with an L shape.

I am sorry to hear. If it is anything like here these applications can be tedious. I remember we had our garage built when the house was being built which avoided the problem (at least for us). A neighbour who has recently moved in, I think, was under the misaprehension, probably from the sellers they bought off, that we had the garage built more recently and had got permission so they would likely have few problems. From their gloom when they found out it does seem like that.

You can't appeal it Annie? It sure sounds like big government.

I have the dentist tomorrow, broken tooth. Painless, and out of sight, so not painful.
But will the dentist make it better?
Depends. How well do you like the idea of an eventual nerve dying and having to get a root canal and cap? Someone said here it's like $100 or $200 to pull a tooth now. Used to be $20. But that pales in comparison to the price of a root canal and cap.
how the hell is a person supposed to leave a site when they get all these emails of support from the friends they have there? i think i'm just too hasty and emotional for my own good.

May I ask why? Did they give you a reason?
This city has many regulations and codes. The side we want to build out from is 6 inches short of a required setback.

so you need more room by the setback or you need 6 inches more house?
just ignore that question. i just looked it up. i get it now. i can understand but at the same time i feel bad for you. however...isn't there some way to just make your U shape 6 inches smaller? like this...u?

Unfortunately, that will looks a little odd Marci. We need to think of something else or wait until the house is completed then we will sell it and get another one.
