Any plans for the weekend?

If it's not raining a lot on the weekend, I'm going to plan on these things (already):

- washing the car by hand (though I do like our car washes in town)
- going for a hike
- reading
- more puzzle building!
- Star Trek (TOS) at night, or more episodes of The Chosen

Now that the city's planning department did not approve our extension plan, I will have to meet with the GC/Architect/PE team on Plan B this weekend, the only time I have for personal planning. I will not have the U shape house I want, might have to settle with an L shape.

I am sorry to hear. If it is anything like here these applications can be tedious. I remember we had our garage built when the house was being built which avoided the problem (at least for us). A neighbour who has recently moved in, I think, was under the misaprehension, probably from the sellers they bought off, that we had the garage built more recently and had got permission so they would likely have few problems. From their gloom when they found out it does seem like that.

I have the dentist tomorrow, broken tooth. Painless, and out of sight, so not painful.

Depends. How well do you like the idea of an eventual nerve dying and having to get a root canal and cap? Someone said here it's like $100 or $200 to pull a tooth now. Used to be $20. But that pales in comparison to the price of a root canal and cap.

This city has many regulations and codes. The side we want to build out from is 6 inches short of a required setback.

Unfortunately, that will looks a little odd Marci. We need to think of something else or wait until the house is completed then we will sell it and get another one.

geez it's a shame they couldn't have told you that before you bought it and started all that work.
