I keep reading about all of these paradoxical outcomes lately. Fish oil is for and against heart health.. and apparently so is exercise LOL there are studies about exercise contributing to atherosclerosis of the arteries.

That is so annoying.
I guess what it ultimately means is that it's all about balance and moderation for literally everything ;p

Good morning, a_muppet! I hope you're enjoying your Monday.
I wish you were wrong. But you've made valid points: we HAVE been polluting our planet and there are so many other problems, but I have belief that we will all band together as a human race to better our world and reduce the problems.
This is coming from a more - for lack of a better word - religious perspective, rather than an actual observation. I just have faith and hope. I couldn't live - or survive - without those two things. Perhaps I am overly optimistic but I have belief in a higher power.

Nought wrong with thinking positive.
In support of your theory, every time it snows heavily 'we' do as a community help others out. People push other's cars, and move snow from pavements. Community spirit can be strong.

it states that the doses were "prescription strength," which is 4g per day. also, the prescription omega 3s are not true fish oils but rather a blend of different omega 3s derived from fish oils so the experts don't know if OTC omega 3s have similar results especially considering supplements contain other ingredients/fillers. interestingly enough the only trial that showed decreased risk of other heart issues (yet still increasing risk of a-fib) was the EPA-only medication while the others were EPA + DHA. Studies done in the 80s & 90s showed omega 3s interfered with platelets so even to this day people undergoing any kind of surgery are usually advised against taking any for like a week or two before and after the procedure, though a cursory search shows some evidence that might not be an issue anymore.
i am curious though if individual genetics have anything to do with it like if you have certain genes you are more/less prone to certain things or are able to tolerate/process dietary things better/worse.
anyway yes damned if you do damned if you don't. yolo.

don't you hate it when you go to the dr with a handful of related symptoms and they're like "just pick one for us to fix" and you're like hmm do i want to be able to breathe out of my nose because they fixed the inflammation or do i want to be able to breathe through my nose because they fixed the constant runniness?? which allergic response is worse???
yeah i didn't think they did this to anyone else, either.

At least they want to fix things, I guess lol
My experience is them telling me my symptoms can't possibly be related to my chronic illnesses, and they don't know why I have said symptoms.. oh well.. let's run some tests and then forget all about it when the results don't show anything.

ohhhh yes that is usually what i get too. i don't think they quite believe that i have the issues i say i have to begin with so i usually shut up and just deal with it on my own.
today i went in for my first ever trigger point injections and out of the 5 areas i identified my GP only would do one. like, wouldn't even do both sides of trapezius. and said she wouldn't do the ones for my jaw because "there are major arteries in your neck" and the injections probably wouldn't even help with the pain** (despite treating tmj issues is a friggan every day practice) so uhhhhhh. ....and on top of that i thought they were going to use lidocaine so i forewarned them that i have some allergic reactions to dextrose/corn and that I've had lidocaine before without anaphylaxis but figured i should say something just in case and she was like no this is something else but i don't know if there's dextrose in it. didn't even know what was in it. turns out it was kenalog which I'm 100% fine with but i hate going into situations knowing more than the medical professionals. what the mother eff am i paying you for. **though AS SHE WAS INJECTING MY SHOULDER she was like well sometimes the needle going into the knot is all that is needed to release the tension

sounds like a pain! if being stabbed with needles can supposedly do the trick, then sounds like you need acupuncture? xD does it help you to just be stabbed by needles like a pin cushion?

lol no it does not help me just to be stabbed with needles. i actually dislike needles that go into the body but don't go out the other side, instead stopping somewhere in the unknown doing who knows what (certainly doesn't sound like my doctor knows what's going on with the needle either). i haven't tried acupuncture and I'm really sensitive to touch particularly by strangers so i don't know if I'm a good candidate. but eh maybe I'll look into it in the future if this doesn't pan out. i just thought tpi would help speed up the progress I'm already making so now we wait and see how this one shot helps the twelve hundred other areas that need attention.
