thanks. you know some folks enjoy avatars. i don't know why we can't just enjoy them without people getting so upset. i don't like using my real pic online and i have my reasons for it. it's a security issue for me. and probably for several others as well. someone could pick your real time image off the internet and use it as ID to make phony licenses or other forms of identification to purchase credit in your name and all kinds of crap.

we have a right to protect ourselves somewhat online without people getting crappy about it.

I hardly post my images anywhere public for the same reason. That is why I also try to keep our personal pictures to members only on here. I am all about privacy and security as much as possible!

I like avatars for places where I'm not supposed to be known by who I really am IRL anyway. It is fun choosing new ones, but I don't usually go out of my way to do it. It's a natural process for me. I find an image that speaks to me while browsing the internet, and I save it.... then I change it out here and there.
