The brain is one of the most complex structures in the known universe. Nothing can explain its workings. BUT there is so much research into the brain: its functions including psychology. But neurology would be an incredible field to work in.
I can't explain how my brain works, yet it does. I can't explain my psychology, but I own it. But do we really choose our psychology? What control do we have over how our brain works? Very little, actually: but I won't scare you.
The human brain is complex, I will agree, but the one thing that surprises me these days is the apparent intelligence of lesser animals and even insects.

Intelligence is incredible. Because insects do have intelligence. Animals have intelligence. Unfortunately I have not studied such things, but it would be fascinating to do so.

Their brains might be small but it seems they make the very best of what they have.

We are learning more and more about science. I also think that knowledge will carry on increasing for the rest of humanity. The human race will never die.
It's like now we are all about protecting our planet:
1. Recycling our trash 2. Reducing plastic in the oceans 3. Not cutting down trees for paper: instead recycling paper 4. Having electric cars: instead of polluting petrol cars 5. Disposing on aerosols better 6. Upcycling 7. Using wind farms 8. Using solar power 9. Being aware of our carbon footprint 10.Protecting our animals
There is so much more, but we're getting there.

Is this happening anywhere else? They don't want us to recycle glass anymore. They won't accept it. They said that the big transfer stations don't want or need it anymore.

No, we have a thing where they won't accept plastic bags.. we have to take them to special drop-off sites.
We are just about to get yet another bin for seperate paper recycling. As our recycling bin is seldom anywhere near full on collection day anyway I do wonder. For reference, our ordinary bin is also seldom anywhere near full. As we use lots of unbagged things like vegetables etc we just don't fill things and our bins are family sized but the children are no longer at home. We do have the space for an additional bin, with a bit of juggling, but I do wonder about terraced houses with little space. Four bins would be a nightmare. We already have ordinary waste, recycled and garden waste. I don't use the garden waste bin, except for storage, as I recycle everything.
I know what you mean about the 'right plastic' Cherry. I am afraid it irritates me. The rules on what is right and what is not keep changing and my take is that I am not a plastics expert. It's not made easier when looking at packaging for the recycle symbol then finding out that local recycling does not conform. Standard rules should be used rather than local authorities making decisions on what makes the most money rather than what can be recycled.
We have no issues here with glass yet Karen but you never know.

This post has hit the nail on the head.
I try to recycle everything but when the other neighbours put the wrong items in the wrong bin, it gets difficult for the bin collectors. In fact, my neighbour has said he'll talk to the council about this issue. Because recycling is very important and having an overflowing dustbin is not acceptable.
The council should listen and come up with some kind of solution. Hopefully by showing the neighbours what they can and can't put into the large dustbins. I don't want to live nearby a pile of trash.

The above question.
I love learning about how things work and understanding scientific principles. I am always questioning earth, the universe and miscellaneous.
I would also love to have the knowledge Albert Einstein had: he is a true legend. His work lives on forever. Who needs to play the guitar when they can be Albert Einstein?
Anyhow, do you like knowing how things work and want to know all about cosmology/biology/chemistry/physics/mathematics?
I can't say 100% , only things that matters to me.
For example, it's exciting to see the launch of the space shuttle but am I interested in all the algorithm of how it was built? or how the astronauts were trained? No.
Am I curious n what's go into the COVID vaccine? no, I am only interested in it because I want to know the difference between Moderna, J & J and Pfizer ( still don't get to that yet).
