You can wing it pretty easily. I just take meat (ground beef or ground turkey), canned beans (sometimes beans that have tomatoes and spices in it already for more flavor), and then I use a taco seasoning sometimes to make it simpler... and that's about it lol otherwise I just pour a bunch of chili powder, garlic, onion, and pepper.. plus whatever other spices you want if you want to make it spicy. Then I add in some cheese to thicken it up a bit. It comes out pretty good just randomly throwing things in together!
Thanks Heather, what kind of cheese should I use? if you could give me a picture of the bean and the taco seasoning you use, that would be great. Thank you.
I don't have any specific ones I use! Any taco seasoning works, so you can choose between the mild, medium, or spicy ones based on preference. They just happen to have a lot of similar spices in it that you might use in a chili is all. I have tried it with any random brand I find, and they all come out good to me. Same with beans really lol I do like the mixed bean types better.. something with kidney beans in it. If you spot any beans that have some chili spices in it, then you can grab those. If you use black beans, then it's like a Mexican chili, which is good, too! I have also used cheddar cheese or mozzarella. Any mixed shredded cheese will work. And then you can top it with some sour cream if you want, but I usually don't have any on hand to do that.
You can't really go wrong with chili, and you can make it any way you want as long as you have meat, beans, and chili powder at a minimum. You can make it your own thing; it's fun!

Well, now I have to figure out what's for dinner. One of my meal plans was discarded (the expired fish I mentioned), so that is 2 days of meal plan out the window lol I at least do have frozen meals for such situations...
What kind of pierogies do you like? My favorite have hamburger, cabbage, sauerkraut and a tiny piece of salt pork. I like them boiled, them a touch of salt and butter melted on them. And a glass of milk.

Mine are the frozen ones...I prefer the mashed potato with cheese ones.

I normally don't make anything special for dinner. Today I had bread with butter and honey (we usually eat this for breakfast, but I was craving something sweet tonight).

Hey Adaline, welcome! glad you join this forum.
Actually, grilled steak is a lazy option for me. My hubby took 10 minutes to grill the steak while I was making salad. The potato was a left over from two days ago, I just added some butter.
In fact most of my meals take less than 20 minutes to make, we only do something extra when our boys come home.
I had pizza last night. I think chicken is defrosted, so I will have to come up with something. I'll likely make some frozen veggies with it... lol I like convenience.

Thank you! Hmmm I need to try grilling a steak sometime. Or at least ask my dad or boyfriend to grill it for me.
Breakfast today was a soft boiled egg with bread. I'm having beef goulash for lunch later on with polenta and cabbage salad on the side.
