I have just measured out my standard lunch. Seeds, nuts, on rye fruit bread. 523 calories.
By the time I have added bread and butter, pieces of carrot, cauli, pepper, apricot, and mango. I am bang on 700 calories for my lunch. It's more than I expected.
I have just eaten my cucumber sandwiches for today. I can see the bottom of the cucumber tray now so I'm making the most of them while I still have them.
I had mini pancakes for breakfast ( 10 pieces< each is about .5 inch in diameter), a hotdog for lunch, a lemon chicken soup and two dolmats for dinner.

I am not fussy on the shop bought cucumbers, they are tasteless. But the weird shaped spiky ones are quite different.

It's all about appearances in shops.
True! I sometimes buy the little ones for snacks but seldom the larger ones. The ones I am eating at the moment are the last of my home grown.
Amusingly I decided on salad for lunch today and had almost finished my lunch when I remembered the cucumbers
These came frozen, and just ready for microwaving.
I do prefer them live. If so I will leave them for a day in a bucket of water with a handful of flour. Apparently it fattens them up, and also helps them expel any muck.
I add a glass of white wine, and a desert spoon of garlic, and drop into boiling water for about 4-5 minutes.

I like mussels and they are really healthy foods.
Thanks Cherry, the ones I got are cleaned already so I normally steam them with ginger, lemon and garlic then eat with liquid butter and lime. My husband likes mussels very much.
talking about roast pork, this is my favorite recipe:
I must admit that looks better than mine. I often use Berbere spice which is chile based along with various root veg to the roast. Mine is similar although with different ingredients. I roast with ghee and use this, adding to the gravy which I serve with the meal rather than seperately. That's especially good if I have jacket potatoes as they then have a buttery flavour. Nothing goes to waste.
No idea about dinner tonight I will decide when I get there but I will have their version of lemon meringue pie which is more like a pudding in a glass but seriously yummy
