Believe it or not I do. I have 3 freezers in my house. one in our refrigerator in the house, one in our old refrigerator in the garage and a stand alone freezer in the laundry room. On my computer I have a list of everything in the three and when i put the food in. This way i have a good idea how old things can be and what I actually have. I print the list weekly and mark it up as I go. It works for me.

Seriously, that must take a lot of self discipline to do that. When I get done putting the shopping away, I want to have a coffee and put thoughts of shopping away!

I try to get into the habit of writing down when I cook meals on my calendar sometimes. I usually don't remember to do this because it's not a habit yet lol but I know it will be helpful for me to know how old everything is.

I also want to write down when I use the dishwasher so I know the dishes are in fact clean and not just I forgot to turn it on lol

lol a lot of times I already rinsed or at least scrubbed off some caked-on food and set aside the dishes to wash later by hand.. and then I get lazy and just put them in the dishwasher. And my dishwasher doesn't even get everything off, so it could trick me! I actually look for residue from the detergent sometimes instead, but there are times it's iffy, and that's when I wish I wrote it down ;p
