I don't know. I'm in temperatures in the upper 90s with this Florida humidity and I will spend hours outside in it. Even working in the yard of taking lond walks through the woods. It doesn't seem to bother me. Thats just me though. I am sure everyone is different.

It wasn't talking about all humid areas. Yet... lol ;p Florida was not mentioned for now.
There are areas where it is too much for human's bodies to regulate body heat, though.

I am thinking it would be more in the tropical zones along the equator.
Some plastics contain UV stabilizers, some don't. Depends on end use.
Hm, that probably wouldn't be enough to help degrade it very well then (thinking about landfills mainly). I'm not sure how deep UV light penetrates dirt and garbage mounds. I imagine it doesn't go far enough.
I have been hearing about some companies switching to plant-based plastics in the near future. I think that's kind of neat.. it will still take a while to break down, but at least it will break down much better eventually.

You might be surprised how quickly degradation happens. Even carbon black which absorbs a broad range of UV wavelengths isn't always effective.
Plastics can of course be recycled. I'm not a fan of bio-feed stock since it can affect food stuffs and is over all more expensive. But then I may have some bias.

Haha, true, you would be a little biased about this ;p
I do try to recycle, but I hear many places still just dump the recycling into the landfill instead because it costs more to recycle, so there goes me trying to do my part lol
A good plant to use could be hemp. That wouldn't affect food at least, and I think it requires less water and time to grow anyway.

The company I work for is oriented highly towards automotive applications. The weight of plastic alone has such an advantage over wood and metal in helping with gasoline mileage. There are reasons why plastics have become preferred feed stocks for a huge number of consumer goods.
I think we might need to invest in usable shutters here as well instead of the kind that are just for decoration...
I saw that Heather and it is a little unnerving. Last year was about what they are predicting for this year but with a chance of more hurricanes. We were lucky here. Let's hope they are wrong, which they often are.
