I jog every weekday in this park (Crandon) near my apt.

Anyway, recently these two ladies have been showing up near the jogging trails

with the typical "Save Yourself, and Only JC Loves you etc" posters and wanting to speak to anyone listening.

One particular flyer caught my eye; asking if I knew the bible.

Now, I have read the bible, in it's entirety, including the Torah parts of the Old Testament, more than once.

So I paused and they gleefully pounced upon me asking what I knew, thought, etc.

Instead I turned the tables slightly, asking if they sought to teach me,

they must be very well read of these scriptures.

I therefore asked the following questions, and I will post their responses.

Question by me Their responses

In which language was the original bible written. Jewish! ? I almost fell into hysterics. LLOL!

Who wrote the bible? God (LOL), with a computer I quipped?

Why were there 12 apostles? Silence! Well, that's what the bible says.

Which are considered most authentic, Gospels or Epistles? Confused silence, growing hostility.

Why did God plan to kill Moses? BC while on the mountain top his flock constructed false statues and images (correct BTW)

How did Moses' wife appease God for that infraction? Dead silence

Moses wife circumcised him and rubbed his foreskin on God's feet

(pretty impressive and tops Van Gogh if you ask me)

Who chose and cherry picked the scriptures of the bible? Silence, and a brief God himself weak murmur. OMG!

These people never read, or questioned biblical scriptures.

Instead they were indoctrinated at one time, sanitized, and now blab and regurgitate

like 10 YOs. that is actually high comedy.

Did I scare them off? Nope, back every day demonstrating their ignorance.

Shell, at my my former job, my friend from Pakistan (Asim) brought the Quran in for me to read. It was the English translation version and I read it cover to cover. It was like the Bible and mentioned people from the Bible; they love Moses!

Ive read the Koran (english version ) and Ive studied the bible under the various different religions and noticed that each religion will take the same verse and use it to suit their own purpose.

This is why I dont like organised religion its twisted and self serving.

The Jewish Muslim and Christian faiths all have the same starting point ie they are Abrahamic based religions. The Jews break away at the point of the new testement and Islam at the newer writings of Mohommed.

But of course as with any other organised religion instead of seeing that they all have common roots and are related they prefer to nit pick and focus on their differences each determined to prove themselves right.
In the hands of man religion is a dangerous thing. Faith is fine in the individual but as an organised movement it is merciless and bloodthirsty.

I think religion has it's place for some.

I like the pageantry the Catholics put on with all
the singing, vestments, incense, and all.

I love it when they reach out to show charity to those in need.
That fits and suits me quite well.

Where people get it wrong is forcing their beliefs on others.

I refuse to do that with my atheism, and will not tolerate it done to me.

I find that quite disrespectful, and can hold my ground extremely well.

Those bullies, and they are definitely bullies,
rarely risk a second encounter with me which of course is my goal.

My religious friends love me strong, and are quick to warn
off the preachers lest they suffer badly in an encounter.

The catholic church, that charitable group, who are aka the worlds wealthiest institution.

You can't help but think that when priests, vicars, rabbis, and other religious service providers are standing in their pulpits, asking for our donations for the third world, that just behind them are solid gold plates, solid gold chalices and the expensive works of art.

Nonetheless Catholic Charities rank well within charitable groups.

My Catholic friends are super nice, and I return the favor by being
less overt.

I will say those Catholic girls are quite yummy, even with age.

Oh indeed, M, catholics have evangelism very low on their list of priorities. I think it is because you all carry Original sin, whereas we, as the chosen ones, have got rid.

Catholics are more interested in kicking the poo out of each other, especially children, for them, it can be relentless.

The motto of the Jesuits is well indoctinated in the catholic church: Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man

It's funny how many of my friends are religious.

And I mean good friends.

I'm a God Mother X2, and they know me.

So, I think modern Christians are more tolerant.

And one other tiny tidbit Mup that makes me love them so,
they love sex.

They might not watch porno, or be detailed, but get them alone
with a few drinks and they start talking. LLOL!

They particularly love my stories about Danny Boy, our horny neighbor.

I have never read the Bible.

I have been approached by people wanting to teach me the Bible, but they lost me straight away by telling me they are trying to save me from going to hell. I was not raised to believe in hell... so..

I once had a Jehovah friend who also told me she could no longer be my friend unless I converted, and I told her that I didn't want to be her friend then.. so she did mean things after that lol..

/shrug..

It's rare someone just accepts me and my beliefs, instead of trying to force something on me... or subtly convince me their religion is best.
