It was quite a hairy night on the tv. Anna, of Downton Abbey was getting over being raped. It wasn't very graphic or harrowing though. After that finished we caught the end of a documentary of a uk serial killer who had decided to become a serial killer. He had actually made it his new year resolution.
That must be the reason for your terrible dream.
Undoubtedly. But you don't expect bad dreams after watching Downton Abbey.
I had a strange dream on tuesday but the only thing I remember was of being at a riverside and a brightly coloured kingfisher swooped down and caught a little fish then gobbled it down as it sat on a branch beside me. I think that was influenced by the "pottery throwdown" program that was on at the weekend, in which they had to make a set of three flying birds for a wall decoration.
Last night I had a couple of strange ones.
In the first I was going to swim in an outside swimming pool. The water was very dirty but I decided to swtill swim. I did one length then turned to come back. I realised I was then not getting anywhere though so I stopped swimming and then realised I was actually on the bottom. They had drained out all the water and I was floundering on the bottom lol.
In the second I had put a ball in a parking spot to reserve my place. The next I knew my old next door neighbour came along. He had joined the police and was in uniform. I explained what I was doing and he went away. I went to do what I intended and then when I returned I found that my neighbour had been back and put a parking ticket on the ball. I then spent a while arguing in my mind the legal position of a parking ticket on a ball rather than on a car. Strange dreams!

I dreamt about a snake - a harmless one - and it was gently put out. Yet I found a poisonous snake on a sprial staircase and realized the other snake was there to stop it: so we brought back in the harmless snake and we were safe.
I forgot to mention a nightmare I had a few nights ago.. someone was shooting people in the head, and they were coming to shoot me as I was hiding behind a chair, but I made myself wake up.
I dreamed we lived in my gran's house, and I kept overfilling the bath.
The funny thing is, that it seemed very familiar. I feel as if I regularly have this dream, but this is the first time I have remembered it.
Has anyone else had this sensation?
I seldom remember my dreams but there is one that I certain I have had before. The first time was when I was little and I was in my bedroom and the wall started moving back and forth and then away from me and I was suddenly in a field full of flowers. I have had this same dream a few times over the years and for some reason this one seems that I always remember.
Last night I was in a forest with OH it was filled with dead stumps and hollow trees and we were searching for someone who was lost. We kept hacking open the trees hoping to find the person . We didnt.
But... As I hacked into a tree a brilliant bright light came out.. Then I woke up and found OH had put the light on 🤣
Maybe not. I mentioned that to Candy as she does not like to watch horror films, if I remember rightly.
You'd be correct about this, jen.
After watching a horror film I have nightmares for years. I just don't want to devil-up my imagination. I have a pretty big imagination and don't dare risk it. It all becomes real for me. I KNOW the actors are just pretending but their characters and the scenarios are just too real feeling.
The worst thing is, I like some horror films. But - again - I don't want to give my inner demons more excuses to devil-me in my sleep.
Somniphobia: I have an intense fear of falling asleep and it is enhanced by thoughts of dying in my sleep before I had the opportunity to achieve what I wanted to achieve in life. Sometimes I have these dreams where it's hard to catch my breath, which later I found out was sleep apnea, and it takes me a while to fall back asleep. There are other dreams which causes this fear as well and they are dreams to which I awake only to question if I had somehow died and return.
One last dream came a few nights ago, unless it was sometime this day, I don't know, I kind of lost track of time. I think I may have been on voice chat in Discord since I hear my friends talking to me, but you know how any sort of speech from the outside world gets deluded or completely change. We had reached a new level but there was a disclaimer that we decided to accept the conditions of. Suddenly, it felt like my life flashed before my eyes, and I awake someplace else as if I was isekai'd into an anime video game world. We remained in communication through Discord despite being separated. Of course, maybe they weren't talking to me and it was all a part of the dream. I was talking with a friend of mine about the next level of a game which felt a lot like Heaven. The entrance felt like walking through the Gates of Babylon with a mixture of Naboo architecture from Star Wars. There were turnstiles for entry. There were no lines for entry and you can just pass on through. Once inside it looked like a nice city/town and there was even a food place where there was free food made everyday at every hour. The more I walked the more I felt like I may have arrived in Heaven or someplace until I realized the shopping district still require the use of money, but not real world money, it's own money. I was stressed because I could have never afforded such luxuries on Earth and had difficulties trying to acquire wealth. So if I was somehow dead then how am I could to acquire these funds. The thought that I may have actually been in Hell arose, but I was still communicating with my friend as if it were a video game. After that, I sort of just woke up, and the question on my mind remained as to if I actually have died or not.
Does anyone else have these dreams and does it scare you into not falling back asleep or going to sleep the next time?

I can't fully remember mine, but I know I was having a confrontation with someone, so I woke with my heart racing a bit because I don't like that type of thing lol
It almost felt like it had to do with another woman my SO was being unfaithful with, I always have dreams like that. It's kind of embarrassing how I only dream of my SO negatively lol
I am having night terrors a bit often again. I just sit up in a panic and start looking around.... I can't remember why or what I think is happening, but usually I think someone is going to hurt or kill me I guess. Sometimes I even hear creepy voices. It's not fun at all.

I get afraid to sleep sometimes because of nightmares/night terrors or because of actual health issues. The scariest nightmare I had was one where I thought my SO was a demon, and he was glowing red with a large mouth ajar screaming in my face with this scary demon scream. I couldn't actually see or hear the real him. I started screaming, and I was so scared and could not stop. It was a blood-curdling scream as if someone was murdering me... I couldn't even go back to sleep for many hours afterward, my body was just so on edge. I'll never forget that one.
Other than that, I get scary heart episodes that sometimes happen while I'm sleeping and wake me up.... so it makes me anxious to go to sleep to begin with some nights, especially within the first handful of days afterward.

That sounds really nasty. I feel for you.
I don't get those but sometimes my dreams have been so realistic and my meomory so poor that I cannot remember the difference between the dream and reality. It does not stop me sleeping but confuses me for days, or even longer, trying to work it out.

Awful, my son used to get night terrors and I can remember how bad it was for him.
Last nights dream was a mix but it was very odd at one point there was a hedge stuffed into a wheelie bin but it had a mans face and was trying to give me a message..
The other day.. I had a dream that my SO and I were going to some boat performance via boat... and then all of a sudden it was like he was swapped out by a stunt double and did some cartwheel into the water as the boat went flying around and also made me fly up onto a pedestal high up on stage. I got really upset and told them to get me down right away and that I didn't want to be part of their show and that I don't like heights, and they were trying to shrug it off at first but then came over with a ladder while laughing at my experience.
I laughed when telling my dream at least, but it didn't feel pleasant at the time.
