In May my OH broke his hand, we are now almost in Oct and its not healed, not even a bit, even after having a pot on for 12 weeks.
so he went for a CT scan and spoke to a Doctor, the Dr told him he needs to stop smoking!! the main reason this hasnt healed is because he smokes, it kills the blood cells stopping or slowing the healing process, i dont think thats the problem, not when he was told before that it may not heal because 80% of broken scaphoid injuries do not heal without surgery!! smoker or not. im not saying this Dr is wrong, im just saying it may not have healed anyway..
so basically he needs a op, for this he will need a hip op and obv a op on his hand, they have told him even after surgery it may not heal if he continues to smoke, plus infection is also a big problem when smoking after a op.
the thing is, he told the Dr he smokes cigarettes, which he doesnt, he smokes the greenery, he didnt want to tell the Dr that for 2 reasons, highly illegal and frowned upon, and health care professionals have more chance of involving child services over drugs, my OH really doesnt WANT to stop smoking, and i dont care what anyone says, if you dont want it you cant do it..
so my questions are, is it the same with weed? should he stop smoking weed? he obv uses cigarette in a joint when he makes one, so should be stop using cigarette, or would weed still have the same affect.
he was debating not having the op all together but in 10 years time he could have cronic arthritis in his hand, which will only get worse.
what if he does just ignore the Dr and keep smoking weed as he does now, what is the risk? obv a dr is going to tell you the worst worst which is like a 1% chance, but is he risking life and limb (literally) if he goes ahead with the op and still smokes??
