Tesla drivers in my town are complete t*ts.. they speed round and seem more engaged with that 17 inch screen in the middle of their dashboard then they do with whats on the road in front of them. And I'm not sure if it comes built-in when you buy a Tesla but the arrogance is amazing, they seem to be the 21st century version of BMW and Mercedes drivers. I've seen them park on other people's driveways block emergency exits and in disabled bays when they are clearly not disabled but hey they drive a Tesla so its ok..
I have not noticed Tesla's around here. In fact I am not sure where the nearest dealer is. Perhaps the thought of coming head to head with a John Deere whose driver ends up with an even bigger smug grin on his face puts them off

First electric vehicle I saw was a bus in Lincoln. It had a beeper that beeped all the time. Really annoying.

Now you know thats not true all us Brits saw electric vehicles on a daily basis when we were kids... They delivered the milk every morning!

I haven't noticed any particular arrogance in Tesla owners here. Maybe, more overseas, since Tesla would be considered an import? I take issue with BMW, Mercedes and Audi drivers here.
Years ago, I remember reading about something linking drivers of luxury cars (mainly German) with unethical behaviors. A search for it yielded more recent articles as well.
It might be only me but I must admit that, although they are rarer, Rolls Royce, Bentleys and Aston Martins mostly appear almost invisible and innocuous on the roads as compared with some of the German cars. Maybe it's like their drivers don't have to prove anything and rush around in a pushy manner. Perhaps many of the drivers of German cars overthink their importance or are just have bad character?
I suppose that it is like everything else. Just a few gives the brand a bad name. Thinking back to when I had a loan BMW for a while, perhaps the 'sport' option in settings is something that is not a good advert for safety and really a temptation for illegal activity. Still we know how the Germans have no shame in breaking rules as fairly recent revelations about emissions testing have shown. I sit and wonder about the latest Mercedes adverts for their electric cars and try to work out how they build in their bad emissions I get very cynical
Years ago we had a BMW 316, OH bought it on a whim and soon got fed up with it.. As for sporty.. We lived in the middle of nowhere so I can confess we did race it, just once.
From a standing start over 1/4 mile..My old mini with a 1300cc metro GT engine left it looking stupid as it grunted and dragged itself up the road..
I dont know if its just here but lately being behind a VW or Audi is like being stuck up behind a garbage truck in summer the stench that comes form their exhaust is awful.
You are surprised that conspiracy theorists are bonkers?
No, I'm always shocked people like that exist; it's bizarre no matter how many times I hear about it. I'll never be shocked that conspiracy theorists are bonkers because they're the ones I'm calling bonkers LOL
You are not going to believe it! we moved into this house almost 2 weeks now. I ordered the trash, compost and recycle bins almost two weeks ago, they gave me an ETA date, never arrived. We called, they told us the bins are stuck at the port. What????They don't know when they will get them to deliver to us. They told us to put the trash out on the street and they would pick them up. My gardeners saw the truck went by and did not stop, he practically had to chase after them to pick up the trash! so upsetting!

I can believe it but it is so irritating. When we moved in I remembered to order the bins but they were going to charge for them until we reminded them that it was a new house and we never had them. They are freely provided by the council but replacements can cost. Collection crews have a routine and so may go by without realising at first.

That's probably true Annie. The ports are backed up because of the pandemic and because of politics being played. I have heard that many ships that were off of California have left and come over to Florida and are being offloaded here.
Hi Karen, The real problem is not about the pandemic in CA, according to the Mayo's clinic tracking, FL is actually much worse when it comes to the pandemic:
The problem with CA is the shortage of labor due to people DON'T like to go back to work. The huge surplus in CA has enabled the governor to be overly generous with his support. There is a rumor that he even thinks about compensating families with relatives died because of the pandemic. I frankly think this is absurb. How about people who die of the flu or cancer? they are less than the people who die of COVID or Omicron? People can't avoid getting cancer but they can certainly get vaccinated to lessen the affect of the illness if they get Covid.
Without any real restrictions here, the only ones being by businesses that choose to do so, our numbers are spiking big time. This is what happened the last time we were hit by a big wave. But the last time we also came out of it quicker and our numbers dropped faster. We will have to see what happens this time. It's damned if you do, damned if you don't. Me, I just do my own thing. Vaccinations up to date, mask up, stay away as much as possible and try to ride it out.

I don't think so. FL's Covid number did not start to drop until September which is only a few months ago, and this drop rate is not in comparison to other states, it's is in comparison to its own statistic. As of September, FL still has the highest COVID death rate at 4900 per 100K people, following by TX. And DeSantis is still trying to overturn the mask mandate:
Oh dear , I've upset someone again...Its my age I'm afraid...
You see, I was bought up in a time when telling the truth was ok, pointing out the glaringly obvious was ok, taking a bit of responsibilty for your actions was expected , oh and common sense was still alive and well.. Nowadays the Karens and the snowflakes are waiting en-masse to be upset offended and outraged by anything , everything and everyone who dares to voice an opinon based on any of the above..
Yesterday it was about a dog.. Now I dont live in the UK and dog thefts in this country are rarer than hens teeth but even I know that the theft of pets has exploded since covid because every fool wants a dog. So I know that you dont leave your dog unattended especially your cute rare breed toy sized dog. But one woman in the uk did, she and her husband went shopping at a shopping center and left the dog in their vehicle and they were surprised when they got back and found the dog gone. ( Really? ) I simply pointed out that they were lucky to get the dog back but really needed to own the situation because we should never leave dogs unattended in vehicles. ( if you havent heard that message you've been living on the moon) but a snowflake Karen saw what I said and went off the deep end..
Well Im sorry. Im sorry if commonsense is offensive, Im sorry if being told the truth is hurtful, Im sorry if pointing out the glaringly obvious is smug or nasty.. And I know we should all have the right to leave our doors unlocked and walk stark naked across the heath at midnight without anyone taking advantage, but most of us have enough brain to realise that there are bad people in the world who dont play by the rules.
Actually Im not sorry at all. I think its time there was a major revival of commonsense and responsibility for your actions and owning yor own problems.. I think its time grown ups started acting like grown ups and not like spoiled brats whining at everything when they dont get their own way.

oh dear I think I am a grumpy old woman..
Two things spring to mind: 1. Yes indeed. If her dog was so important to her why did her care of it not reflect that. When ours was a puppy [stealable] there was no way she would be left in view. By the time she was an adult, no-one was going to enter our home or car. She is an excellent guard dog. 2. If you can't cope with contrary opinions, why post anything on the internet? Internet users need a degree of thick skinned-ness. [if that's not a word, then it should be!]
Its the same with a lot these days. You see the videos of young women coming out of nightclubs drunk as skunks half dressed tottering off alone into the night.. Im actually shocked that the vast majority get home alive I think that shows just how safe society is.
Dogs of all shapes and sizes off the leads miles from the owners left in gardens with low fences or cars. People glibly telling everyone they meet 'oh he/she is a softie she loves everyone' OMG.. I tell people my dog is not to be trusted. Murphy is very warey of strangers but Id say that anyway just to make him less attractive.( he is a rare breed)
People who leave cars houses bikes unlocked and expect them to be there or not robbed on return..
Why take risks? why leave yourself open to heartbreak pain or injury? if a little commonsense will save you why not use it? See I am old I just cant get my head round the idea that everyone else is supposed to be responsible for situations caused by yourself.
