That really winds me up........ I know it shouldn't, but if I say "Blue" does that mean I want blue skin, blue dog, blue daughter, blue grass [pun intended] Grrrrrrrr!

You backed me up, Heather! As far as "you can" being used in a plural way, I have an example. A politician addressing a rally of a thousand people may say something to them like "Are you with me?"
I understand a plural "you" when used for a crowd (generally speaking to everyone), such as when giving a speech, but what about in normal, every day discussion? It doesn't always work quite the same as saying "y'all"; that was what I was comparing it to.
For example, if it were just with a small amount of people in a room (like 2-3), then I would think it best to specify, or else people will be like, "who are you talking to?" lol that is why "you all/y'all" leaves no confusion; you are speaking to everyone, and everyone knows it.
Your when it should be you're. And Callie, your new avatar looks a bit like Princess Di; that's not a bad look!
oops another one im guilty of, i actually never add things like ' in a word, unless i use spell check, im so lazy!! & thank you Jen, i dont see it personally but i take it as a compliment.
in my job i speak to alot of foreign people, whether Asian, Indian, Polish, Romanian etc.. and i do love how they talk sometimes, especially Polish and Romanian, i just find it funny how they assume how to put words together in English.
