I am not so keen. Especially as many things seem tacky, all year, these days. I much prefer more solid traditional things, even if they are harder to fit in with modern life.

Actually, our Tacky the Reindeer is almost certainly vintage, You can tell from his weight.
Most of our tree baubles are vintage glass. They are really cheap in the charity shops. People seem to prefer the modern plastic ones. But they lack the elegance of the glass.

I wasn't referring to your reindeer as Candy posted in lowercase so I thought she was being general. Our baubles are mainly glass to. I inherited mum and dad's so many are from what I remember when I was young., and are older than me.
It's interesting what you mention about them. Some old sets seem to sell for tens of pounds in these antique programs.
I would love to get hold of the little glass babycham type deer my nana had in her tree. Considered tacky in the 1970s now vintage I bet they are worth a bomb.
My decorations come from various places including secondhand but they are all glass and I agree they have an elegance and lustre that plastic cannot match.

My brother and his girlfriend are visiting my dad from London tomorrow: they'll be spending the night at my dad's house. We are having a MacDonald's for dinner tomorrow evening, too: it'll be nice.
Anyhow, I did mean tacky in a general sense. You're right there.

Cherry are you still considering Karen the Reindeer?
