I can't help thinking of the sheer amount of hardship in the UK at the moment, they can't afford to pay doctors or nurses a decent wage , but they can afford millions for a coronation.

I am working the following tuesday, so I will watch the news that day in the evening for the potted highlights. I always watch the news before I visit patients. I suspect they will think it odd that I am not up to date....

But if it had been the following saturday?

I would have been as indifferent as to any other royal event.

I can still boast that I have never seen the royal xmas speech.

Actually the main thing I have noticed is not the Coronation as such but the drive of those companies producing special coins commemorating all from the death of the queen to the coronation of the king on limited edition, free postage, not really openly saying that they are subject to all manner of terms and conditions.

I suspect their are more sensible ways of buying commemorative coins.
