As an ex Brit not one bit. Yeah ...King Charles, no we keep saying Prince Charles or like you I think spaniel spaniel spaniel...
I can't help thinking of the sheer amount of hardship in the UK at the moment, they can't afford to pay doctors or nurses a decent wage , but they can afford millions for a coronation.

I am working the following tuesday, so I will watch the news that day in the evening for the potted highlights. I always watch the news before I visit patients. I suspect they will think it odd that I am not up to date....
But if it had been the following saturday?
I would have been as indifferent as to any other royal event.
I can still boast that I have never seen the royal xmas speech.
I've set the PVR to record coverage on one of the Canadian channels. They'll start chatting at 1 am here! I'll be able to skip through for the parts most interesting to me, since I plan to wake at a normal time...
I'm less attached to Charles as monarch than I was the Queen, but I'm likely to keep tabs on the royals for some time because I think William will do well as monarch. (And all of Charles' grandkids are adorable!)

I was surprised to see Canada is still in the commonwealth.

The Coronation is rammed down the throats of people across the UK as they are invited to swear allegiance to an unelected monarch, and bend the knee to another human being who by virtue of imperialism and empire now sits on a throne wearing a crown of stolen jewels. We must all fall in line and know our place as inferior subjects.
Nobody in the media, it seems, is allowed an alternative view on this archaic ‘tradition’.

Actually the main thing I have noticed is not the Coronation as such but the drive of those companies producing special coins commemorating all from the death of the queen to the coronation of the king on limited edition, free postage, not really openly saying that they are subject to all manner of terms and conditions.
I suspect their are more sensible ways of buying commemorative coins.

I heard this morning that William will kniel at the feet of his father to swear allegiance to his King...

You spend too much time reading Hello magazine.
