I love spiders and have always wanted one as a pet. They are incredible animals. They look scary but often have a heart of gold. I do wonder, does your son ever handle his two spiders? They might run away if they did, I guess. But it must be tempting. Also, what does your son feed his spiders? What about cleaning the cage they are in?
I still have a spider living in my kitchen window. I keep wondering when it's going to die from starvation or something over winter, but still going.
I always leave spiders alone: and I NEVER kill any spider. They are important creatures and have every right to exist. Plus, I don't see that spider dropping bombs or shooting guns.
Basically, NEVER kill that spider: put it outside instead. I know it looks scary and different, but please show compassion for God's creatures!

I don't know what he feeds them, but I know he takes them out and plays with them.

How come they don't run away? How does your son contain them?
Also, it takes bravery to handle such big spiders: most people would run in fear! Still, they are important animals. Your son IS brave, though. It is good to not fear spiders.

He just holds them in his hand and they run around. Honestly, they are not big, they are tiny wee.
Someone in our art group mentioned that big spiders have been seen in the wild here in the Uk yesterday. Hand sized. I don't know the truth in it but I would imagine it would worry many people.

Apparently, plenty of the large hairy variety arrive here, in fruit shipments. This is our largest indigenous one:
the Cardinal Spider The largest spider found in the UK is the Cardinal Spider (Tegenaria parietina). Male examples have been recorded with an impressive 12 cm leg span. By comparison the smallest species of 'Money spiders' (family Linyphiidae) have a leg span of little more than 2 mm.
There's a baby crow looking very alone in our woods just now. He is about 12 feet up in a tree, but he looks lost. As he is up a tree, I suppose he is relatively safe. Perhaps he is more advanced than I give him credit for....
