Here's a new thing from Weird History. The one about the planes in the first story caught my attn. I thought I was paranoid but apparently not nearly as bad as some folks.

not sure i ever shared this before but when i was with my 2nd husband there was one place we lived in that we ended up with demons in the house. he didn't know it but i did. the cat knew they were there too. the damn things touched everything in the house and hid stuff from me and at one point they were in my vehicle with me on the way to work. then they started coming into work with me. so the one story about one of those houses with demons doesn't seem all that off too me.
When we moved to NL we bought a house in a village. It was an ex blacksmiths shop and cottage dating from 1845 although there had been a house on that site since 1600.
Right from the start OH would hear me call I would hear him call and we would end up meeting in the hallway .. Later people would swear they had seen someone pass the living room door and go down the hall to the WC only to find no one there when they went to look..
We would have strange smells every night as we went to bed the smell of an extinguished candle. OH stripped all the walls back to bare brick installed all new electrics and plumbing and dry walled the whole place. Yet the smell continued and worse the tv would switch itself on and off (this was when you still had a physical on off button) the radio did the same. the sound would increase or decrease on its own. We just naturally talked to whatever it was.. if the channel changed we would say 'hey I was watching that'.. Or Do you mind? I lost crockery and in a house with three children that shouldnt be weird but on more that one occasion something would go missing , we would go out and on our return in the middle of the table or laying on the kitchen floor would be the missing item .. raised eyebrows but I just said thank you and put the dish away.
If I heard banging about in the bedrooms I would shout up the stairs , if youre up there would you mind dusting? Similarly if I heard noise in the kitchen I would shout yes Id love a cup of tea.. Nothing every happened but it became a standard reaction.
One scary incident wasnt even us it was my FIL on new years eve , he offered to babysit while we went to the local pub but he phoned us in a panic that things were flying... He had been in the kitchen when a cupbpard had opened and a frying pan had flown at his head, then the spice rack emptyied itself with jars shooting across the kitchen like guided missiles. He was terrified.
Eventually we decided it was time for us to move on but the house didnt want us to go. We gave the walls a fresh coat of paint and as the paint dried the word help remained.. Then every time we had a viewing weird things would happen. Huge wet patches would appear on walls that had no plumbing in under or over them, these patches dried instantly without staining when the viewer left. Doors without locks would appear to be bolted from the inside and windows would remain tight shut..Lights wouldnt work or the doorbell would stick ringing away like a fire bell..
eventually we did sell although the estate agent phoned us on the day of signing to say the new people wouldnt sign until we sorted the massive leak in the kitchen ceiling he said he had popped in to give the place a last look over and water was pouring in from above the light fitting , he told us he had put a bucket under it but we needed to get there quickly. We shot off to repair it and found..... nothing the bucket was bone dry the light fitting contained nothing but dust and a dead fly. We told him we had sorted it out and signed over the house..
The new people stayed for a year, they never slept in the newly refurbished bedrooms instead they left their bed in the garage and slept there..
I love reading about hosted houses and hauntings. i am actually a paranormal junkie. I have actually stayed at one of the houses listed in the article, the Farnsworth House in Gettysburg. Real creepy...

I need you to help me out cuz I'm not good with abbreviations. NL and WC?
I've had occasions where I've seen people in old timey outfits walking behind me through the mirror.
This was back at our apartment but.... One time my SO and I had a shared dream of sorts.. we saw the same woman floating above us. It was during one of what I thought was a night terror, but when I was waking him up in my normal night terror fashion he saw her, too. That was really creepy. I also want to add that before that I used to always joke about one of our dogs barking at a ghost because she'd always go into the bedroom and start barking at the same spot every time regardless of the lighting. Her fur would always be standing up, and she was genuinely unsettled. Now I wonder.... if she saw the same lady?

One day me and my cat were on the sofa in this house where the demon activity went on. This was the first of the activity. We're sitting on the sofa and we hear the front door open and close and boots clomping through the kitchen. We both swung our heads that way at the same time and Shelby growled. I knew it was something unworldly cuz the ex had put in a partition that had a door in it as well. Apparently ghosts don't see that stuff. LOL
found something this morning. interesting read i think: jimmy hendrix
apparently he died from asphyxiation because he got sick from some barbituates he took. i wonder if he was having trouble sleeping. so many of those rock and rollers did.
so he died in a:

In the early 1900s, germ theory was a relatively new concept, and many – including doctors – were unaware of how diseases spread. At the time, bacterial diseases like typhoid and dysentery could still wipe out an entire family.
Mary Mallon was an Irish immigrant who worked as a cook for affluent New York families. In her wake, she unknowingly left an outburst of typhoid fever, earning her the epithet "Typhoid Mary." By that time, doctors knew the disease was most commonly spread through excrement, and they were able to trace outbreaks by locating the start of an epidemic and following its spread.
By the time of her first quarantine in 1907, doctors determined that Mallon had infected 22 people and caused the death of a little girl. When she was permanently quarantined in 1915, she had ultimately infected an estimated 51 people, at least three of whom died from the disease. Since no healthy carriers had yet been identified, Mallon refused to believe that she – a healthy, middle-aged woman – could possibly be the culprit behind the disease's spread.
Upon her first questionings from New York City Health officials in 1907, Mallon admitted she didn't see the point in washing her hands. Germ theory was still fairly new, and she didn't seem to believe sickness could be transferred through physical contact or lack of proper washing.

I can guarantee it K. I see it daily at work. People who have been raised to wash their hands and who care are ok. But they let too many people in who refuse to abide by sanitary rules. And they do nothing to stop it. Nothing.
