Today's scripture reading
Psalm 1:1-6 MEV Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; [2] but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. [3] He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; its leaf will not wither, and whatever he does will prosper. [4] The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. [5] Therefore the ungodly will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. [6] For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly will perish.

Today's Bible reading:
Psalm 9:1-20 MEV I will give thanks to You, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will declare all Your marvelous works. [2] I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. [3] When my enemies are turned back, they will stumble and perish at Your presence. [4] For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging what is right. [5] You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked, You have wiped out their name forever and ever. [6] O you enemy, destructions have come to you for a perpetual end. You have destroyed cities; their memory perished with them. [7] But the LORD remains forever; He has established His throne for judgment. [8] He will judge the world in righteousness; He will give judgment to the peoples in uprightness. [9] The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. [10] Those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You. [11] Sing praises to the LORD who dwells in Zion; declare His deeds among the people. [12] He who avenges deaths remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble. [13] Be gracious to me, O LORD; consider my trouble from those who hate me, O You who lifts me up from the gates of death, [14] that I may recount all Your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion, that I may rejoice in Your salvation. [15] The nations have sunk down in the pit that they made; their own foot is caught in the net which they hid. [16] The LORD is known by the judgment that He executes; the wicked one is snared in the work of his own hands. Meditation. Selah [17] The wicked will be turned to Sheol, and all the nations that forget God. [18] For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor will the hope of the poor perish forever. [19] Arise, O LORD, may mortals not prevail; let the nations be judged in Your sight. [20] Put them in fear, O LORD, that the nations themselves may know they are mortals. Selah
Psalm 10:1-18 MEV Why do You stand far off, O LORD? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble? [2] In arrogance the wicked persecutes the poor; let them be caught in the devices they have planned. [3] For the wicked boasts of his soul’s desire; he blesses the greedy and despises the LORD. [4] The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek God; God is not in all his thoughts. [5] His ways are always prosperous; Your judgments are high and distant from him; as for all his enemies, they scoff at him. [6] He says in his heart, “I shall not be moved; for generations I shall not meet adversity.” [7] His mouth is filled with cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue is mischief and iniquity. [8] He sits in the lurking places of the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent; his eyes lurk against the unfortunate. [9] He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den; he lies in wait to catch the poor; he catches the poor, drawing them into his net. [10] He crouches; he lies low, so that the unfortunate fall by his strength. [11] He says in his heart, “God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see it.” [12] Arise, O LORD! O God, lift up Your hand! Do not forget the humble. [13] Why do the wicked despise God? He says in his heart, “You will require an account.” [14] You have seen it, for You observe trouble and grief, to repay it with Your hand. The unfortunate one entrusts it to You; You are the helper of the orphan. [15] Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man; seek out his wickedness until You find none. [16] The LORD is King forever and ever; the nations perished from His land. [17] The desire of the humble You have heard, O LORD; You make their heart attentive; You bend Your ear [18] to judge the orphan and the oppressed; man on earth no longer trembles.
Psalm 11:1-7 MEV In the LORD I seek refuge; how do you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain, [2] for the wicked bend their bow; they make ready their arrow on the string, that they may treacherously shoot the upright in heart. [3] If the foundations are broken, what can the righteous do?” [4] The LORD is in His holy temple, His throne is in heaven; His eyes see, His eyes examine mankind. [5] The LORD tests the righteous, but the wicked and one who loves violence His soul hates. [6] Upon the wicked He will rain coals of fire and brimstone and a burning wind; this will be the portion of their cup. [7] For the righteous LORD loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.
Psalm 12:1-8 MEV Help, LORD, for the godly man comes to an end, for the faithful disappear from sons of men. [2] They speak empty words, each with his own neighbor; they speak with flattering lips and a double heart. [3] The LORD will cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things, [4] who have said, “With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are in our control, who is master over us?” [5] “Because the poor are plundered, because the needy sigh, now I will arise,” says the LORD; “I will place him in the safety for which he yearns.” [6] The words of the LORD are pure words; they are silver tried in an earthen furnace refined seven times. [7] You will keep them, O LORD; You will preserve them from this generation. [8] The wicked walk on every side, when the worthless of mankind are exalted.
Psalm 13:1-6 MEV How long, O LORD? Will You forget me for good? How long will you hide Your face from me? [2] How long will I harbor cares in my soul and sorrow in my heart by day? How long will my enemy loom over me? [3] Take note and answer me, O LORD my God! Brighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, [4] lest my enemy say, “I have him,” lest my foes exult when I stumble. [5] I for my part confide in Your kindness; may my heart exult in Your salvation! [6] I will sing to the LORD, because He has dealt bountifully with me.
Psalm 14:1-7 MEV The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good. [2] The LORD looks down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. [3] They all turn aside, together they become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. [4] Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat my people as they eat bread, but do not call on the LORD? [5] There they were in great fear, for God is with the generation of the righteous. [6] You shame the counsel of the poor, but the LORD is his refuge. [7] Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come from Zion! When the LORD turns back the captivity of His people, Jacob will rejoice, and Israel will be glad.
Psalm 15:1-5 MEV LORD, who will abide in Your tabernacle? Who will dwell in Your holy hill? [2] He who walks uprightly, and does righteousness, and speaks truth in his heart; [3] he who does not slander with the tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor bears a reproach against his friend; [4] in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honors those who fear the LORD; he who swears to avoid evil and does not change; [5] he who does not put his money out to usury, nor take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be moved.
Psalm 16:1-11 MEV Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge. [2] I have said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; my welfare has no existence outside of You.” [3] For the holy ones who are in the land, they are the majestic ones; in them is all my delight. [4] Those who chase after other gods, their sorrows will be multiplied; their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor lift their names on my lips. [5] The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup; You support my lot. [6] The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; yes, an inheritance is beautiful for me. [7] I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; my affections also instruct me in the night seasons. [8] I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be moved. [9] Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in security. [10] For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You suffer Your godly one to see corruption. [11] You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Psalm 17:1-15 MEV Hear a just cause, O LORD, attend to my cry; give ear to my prayer that is not spoken from deceitful lips. [2] May my sentence go out from Your presence; may Your eyes see rightly. [3] You have examined my heart; You have visited me in the night; You have tried me and found nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress. [4] Concerning the works of men, by the word of Your lips I have avoided the paths of the violent, [5] placing my steps in Your paths, that my footsteps do not slip. [6] I called on You, for You will answer me, O God; incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. [7] Show marvelously Your lovingkindness, O Deliverer of those who seek refuge by Your right hand from those who arise in opposition. [8] Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings, [9] from the wicked who bring ruin to me, from my deadly enemies who surround me. [10] They close their hard hearts; with their mouth they speak proudly. [11] They have now encircled us in our steps; they have set their eyes to bend down to the earth; [12] it is like a lion that is anxious to rip its prey, and as a young lion lurking in secrecy. [13] Arise, O LORD! Confront him, cast him down! Deliver my soul from the wicked by Your sword, [14] from men by Your hand, O LORD, from men of the world whose portion is in this life. You fill their belly with Your treasure; they are satisfied with children, and they leave their abundance to their infants. [15] As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied when I awake with Your likeness.

I am a Christian, too.
I am NOT referring to you Lazy with my next comment: I don't shove my beliefs down anyone's throat. I "let" people choose for themselves. I'd definitely never join a religious cult or obsess about any religion. I have my personal beliefs: but they are personal. Organised religion isn't for me.
Right now, I am having home bible studies at home, you want to know why? Please take take this the wrong way, we love our old church, and went there for years, but until covid hit, we (being in Japan), my wife and I wanted to attend a church that would practice love as seen by wearing a simple mask, but we were met with lots of drama, and it took me a while before God helped me forgive them adn I would not think that I was better too, I just leave them be and still we have home bible studies with my wife and out children, three of them, that is how we are doing it it. We want to go church, but my wife and I are not in agreement in with one. There is a Japnaese church, and I don't speak/understand Japanese well enough to attend, but we went to that church for 14 years, but I have to say, I was not walking wtih the Lord and I was backsliding and I was not growing, so I fear this is my reason/understand that my wife is hestitate on us going back to them old Japanese church, but still we talk on text and they share Bible verses with us, They offered to eat dinner at their home too, my wife and I and family will eat dinner with them soon, probably after 2023 year starts.
I also don't like to push my beliefs, and what I do sometimes, is seen as that..but I don't want to seem that way, but when two opposites meet, it will always cause something inside. I just hope the something inside me will still love them, pray for them, and think well of them. that is how I think.
Thank you for your feedback Popcorn&Candy, I appreciate you.
Lazy, it's nice to meet you, when I was in the Military, I went to protestant chapel as that was the closest one that I identified with. I was raised and still am considered a non-denominational Christian.
I want to open up more about my beliefs and listen to yours if you are all willing. I like talking about Jesus and learning what He was teaching us. Take care and God bless you and your family always.

I do believe in God. I also believe in angels. Unfortunately, I also believe the devil is real. However, I won't go there in this post.
To me Jesus is the son of God and I do believe in heaven, hell and everlasting life. I was brought up by the church, so these beliefs are deeply ingrained in me. I also think there are forces in the universe we don't know about: whether this relates to religion, I don't know. But maybe they are entwined?
I am by no means an expert, but I do have a strong belief in God.

Like that in what sense? Can I choose my religion in the UK? As far as I've heard, yes.
Definitely, and most people won't mind what you choose. In the uk census Jedi was found to be a remarkably well supported religion.
In England and Wales 390,127 people (almost 0.8%) stated their religion as Jedi on their 2001 Census forms, surpassing Sikhism, Judaism, and Buddhism, and making it the fourth largest reported religion in the country.[32] In the 2001 census, 2.6% of the population of Brighton claimed to be Jedi. The percentages of religious affiliations were:
But there is a large minority who do not sympathise with non xian religions in the uk, and truth be told, it is not a notion that the establishment supports at all. Even many of the xian religions get short shrift here.

I'll have to catch up on your videos, Dominic. Thanks for sharing them!
While laws in my country are meant to allow for everyone to choose their own religion, it often feels that we're being strongly encouraged not to have any religion instead. I suspect that's more likely to lead to anarchy...

As long as someone has morals and is a nice person, I don't care what religion they follow. If they're not being uppity about their religious beliefs, I don't judge what they believe in. Although if they were a nice Nazi, that would be a different matter.

I can see why you would say that but I imagine not all members of the NSDAP were evil, in the same way as members of Stalin's communist regime were maybe not either. It's easy to sterotype.

You've got a point jen<>it IS easy to stereotype. But I can't help see Nazi's as evil. I don't agree with the Klu Klux Klan, either.
Here in Britain Muslims have had a hard time. With the war in Iraq years ago and some people saying "Allah Ackbar" muslims aren't always popular. BUT Nadiya Hussain IS very popular. She won the British Bakeoff and baked a cake for the queen. She has travelled the world with her television food programme. Nadiya is a legend.
I guess not everyone is cut from the same cloth. Nadiya may be muslim but she's no extremist.
I guess not everyone is cut from the same cloth. Nadiya may be muslim but she's no extremist.
This is likely true for many religions - some people will go farther than others. We do tend to expect the same treatment from every person in a certain religion, but that might be unrealistic since there are varying degrees of devotion to the religion, or different interpretations of the religious texts. (As an example, see the multiple denominations in Christian circles and the spectrum of devout all the way down to "Chreasters," those who attend church only at Christmas and Easter but don't live out the Christian beliefs every day.)
Now I will make a very controversial statement ...oh no
"every one has a belief" "everyone has a belief in something/something"
this means to me, they have object of faith.
To Atheists it's themselves To Agnostics it's unsure To Christians, it's Jesus To Muslims it's Allah and their prophet Muhammed
There can be tolerance if we love each other as everyone wants. The problems...not one person is righteous, I mean, absolutely morally pure and true. Oh man, this is going to hurt..but..
There truly are no 'law abiding citizens' we don't even know what that even means. I can go to your country and you can come to mine and we have to interpret each others languages, follow the laws made by men and women in the government (which are always amended and changing)
When I hear someone day "law abiding citizen" oh man, a can of worms has arrived and it was now opened.
you might think I am upset. Nope. Not.
I admit, I get my laws from the teachings of Jesus Athiests get theirs from themselves or society and they get theirs from ? exactly Muslims get their laws from the koran Hindus have their texts Buddhists have their text Pagans have theirs Witches have theirs Satanist have theirs
you see ....
who can actually truly live without any evil, I mean, no hypocrisy, and each own person knows they got it and to say they don't is a lie..
I am a liar I am an adulterer but stopped but struggle
I admit I have sins
When I hear others boast of themselves, I see it as...hmmmm are they being 100% honest? hmmmmm..I don't think they are, but no one wants to be called out or judged on it, they reason "why do you judge me, judge you?" but don't we all judge each other, we do. 100%. Who doesn't.
I judge by a standard though. It's one of purity and hypocrisy. I have found the puriest form from what Jesus says which is why I turned to Christ. I don't have to rely on my efforts to go to heaven. I don't have to "to good" and "look good"
but someone might say "hey man, liar, you christians are always trying to be holier than thou, calling the world sinner's oh come off it man'
ok, so Christians tell the world of sins and if offends....hmmmm
hmmmm
thinking..
if you caught me sinning......I mean, you saw me run a red light and you stopped me, I could tell you, "I was only driving, but I didn't see it" (lie? or who knows) or I can tell you "well I had to do it, I was running late" (truthful? maybe)
or I can do "You know what cop, I don't give a Dang darn <insert swears here> about the beep beeping red light, and who the eff are you?
Oh dang. We have hit the nail on the head now...we found the criminal who wants to 1) not only "not" admit his wrongs, but 2) also "yell at the cop who pulled them over"
Now, I know your reading this and saying "oh, so Christians are cops and we are the criminals, yeah, nice religion, I want nothing wiht that..."
no, Christians are not cops,
See, how you see Christians tell you "rules" and "regulations" is tell us Christians how you perceive these supposed "rules and regulations".
so what are Christians? self-righteous pricks?
some are, yes, I can be, and you know what...I admit it....and I don't like it. but let me explain myself
so what are Christian?
imagine you are in need of help, your finger is bleeding, and the emergency technician is ignoring it, but treating your neck, and you say "hey, uh, my finger is hurting" and the tech is "ignoring" you and treating another wound
you might not like to hear this or not want to know this but...
this is the wound......
us
you
me
them
him
her
we are the wound.
God (Jesus Christ) came to show us purity. For example, Jesus said "You know what the law days "Do not commit adultery" but I say to you, that whomever lusts after a women (or a men if you are a women) has committed adultery with her already in his heart"
THAT right there.
If we can just pause and focus and get a magnifying glass and I could spend some times just "talking" about just that one simple command, right there, and you let it resonate with your mind.
Let me try ...yes? bear with me...
This is to guys''''not the women (on a women's only forum? yes, bear with me)
ok, guys, "if you look at a women, to lust after her, Jesus said that is committing adultery with her already in your heart"
guys, what do you think about that?
A typical guy answer is this: Oh that is BS, because women are hotties and I can look, eff, sleep with whomever the eff I please dude, eff you bruh"
note his attitude...
next guy
Another typical guy answer is this: oh well, I believe God puts them on the earth to let us stare at the hotties, I mean c'mon man, they are hot, look at this porn and see who they do it, dang man, I want some of that sh#t" excuse my hidden swear but that is what they say/thnk
then there is another type of guy:
"oh man, I have this porn addiction, I feel ashamed of it, I know my wife doesn't like it, she said that she's gonna leave me if I don't stop it"
and yet another guys
"I just sleept with my wife's friends
and yet another guys
"I just paid for an escort"
Now...you see those different "scenarios" and their "different "beliefs and we haven't even begun to talk about what religion or what is truth or anything...
but Jesus said
THIS is the standard guys, "not only is committing adultery sinful and breaking of God's commands, if you do it outwardsly, but God is looking into your heart, your mind and sees that if you mentally lust, sexuall desire, become aroused by these women, desiring to have sex with them in your mind, and having your way with them in your heart, ...then guys, this is the same to me, as you actually going out and going it"
Jesus is saying "guys, to Me, I will not only see your out goings but I see your heart thinkings, heart desirings, and if you claim, self-righteously that "I am a good person because I don't do as the sinner does" but hide in your heart that you actually want to do the same things but only hide it, but in your mental capacity and heart capacity, you are enjoying this sexual desire, this sexual fantasy you have created, and allowed int, then guys, know this, I am not going to only judge the outside but also since I know the heart, I will have to deal with your thought life and your hidden desires, unless you confess it, and forsake it, and believe that I have died in the cross in your place, showing you what it means to die for God, out of love for God, and believe that I can also raise you up,
guys, if you don't agree with me, then you are creating your own laws and your own standards which not only gives you a sense or "righteousness" but this righteousness will not be the same Rightoueness that I alone can offer you and give you by forgiving your sins.
guys, I didn't make women for your sexual fantasy, I made men and women to be husband and wife and what God has put together, let no man separate"
guys, it's the enemy who is trying to break up this designed order that I created, of marriage and the enemy who is seeking to tell you that you also have sexual pleasures outside this marriage vow by having sexual desires hiding in your heart for other women, not your own God given wife, and it was designed that marriage is good, in a loving and committed way for all children and family and life.
...
there is not a more pure standard that I have found, except what Jesus says and teachings. If we followed Jesus's teachings of no committing adultery and that was to include the "no sexual fantasies of others in our minds and hearts" because it's not pure and not God-honoring and not honoring the fellow men and women around us, I think we would have a purer world, and this is just one of his teachings.
I can't see who any other religion, makes sense to me. That is why I am committed to Christ. Jesus has saved me has made me stop it, has made me appreciate my wife, and made me treat you all as humans and not sexual pieces of meat, I can't find a holier standard, which is why I am this way and it was God's kindness to me, that helped me get changed.
I wanted to say that. I know it's gonna anger someone, but I don't hate gays, athiests, pagan, satanists, but I can see how what I believe in is offensive to you. I wish we can agree to disagree if you do, but I can't change my thinking.
I hope you all have a good day and this not any special message towards any women on this forum. I actually love you all can care about you, you know. I wish you have good health and many successes in life, sweets, and desserts, and I know this is kind of raw and hard to listen to . I'm difficult
