We are closely watching a storm forming that will come close to or hit Florida. So far it looks like a close pass to the south.
Are you prepared Karen?
Yes Annie, we have out hurricane kit which contains all we need. We also have sand bags as well as non perishable food and plenty of water. I'm hooping we won't need it.
It looks like the storm will miss us to the south and not really affect us much at all. But its a first of having two in the Gulf of Mexico at the same time. imgur.com/pzHzjFy
It was nice enough for us to go walking even in the afternoon. Was in the high 70s with some clouds, and we mostly stuck to shade. It did get hot at times, but really not too bad.

Sounds lovely. It is nice here this morning, but there is a feel of autumn.
Topical storm Marco is about to come ashore in Louisiana and what will be hurricane Laura will be following right behind and come ashore just after midnight Wednesday. It's not a good situation at all.
I was seeing a lot of jokes about how the other one should have been called Polo to go with Marco... lol
Heather I saw that too. Marco fell apart before coming ashore but it was still pretty bad weather but Laura is forecast to become a major hurricane before it does. They are predicting sustained winds of 115 mph with gust much higher. Hopefully somehow it changes but it doesn't look good for them.
We have storm Francis today... The dogs love that wild weather all the reeds whisper like a thousand voices as the wind rushes through and it gets them very excited..Of course we were not silly enough to walk near the woods or any trees just round the lakes where its all grassland.
Quite funny watching the birds, even swans trying to take off and having to do a quick loop and land back where they started. But as we came home the road next to ours was closed, fire trucks are there and it looks like a tree has snapped off halfway down the truck
I think it's funny how they name all the storms now. Before it was just hurricanes. I am not sure who started doing that but the first time I noticed it was on the weather channel here. The NOAA still only uses names for hurricanes.
Hurricane Laura turned into a Cat 4. Yikes... I read the surge could go up to 30 miles inland and some areas could see 20 feet of water...
It is supposed to loop its way toward me, but it should only be a depression by then. They said we might get a little rain, but we might see some high winds.
It's really terrible. My eyes welled up watching it. It is so scary, and to think they keep telling us this is going to become the norm or worse because of the globe warming..
