Menopause. I had a total hysterectomy before 40 due to a cyst & guess what?
I get to go through menopause twice. ~Tilts head & smiles like a psycho~
And get this...doc wasn't gonna let me have hormone for this trip. I had them for the 1st one. He told the nurse to tell me to "ride it out." LOL! I told her there was no way in hell I was gonna ride this out. I said unless he wants to support me when I get fired for smacking the crap outta someone in the midst of hormonal rage. Nurse said it made him laugh but he wrote the prescription.

Sometime you need to put your foot down, doctor or not!
When I was in labor, the attending doctor wanted me to push, after 10 min, I refused to keep pushing, he had no choice but to do a C-section on me.
It's already a nasty day here, we have already had bad thunderstorms and there are a lot more coming. We are also under a tornado watch so my warning radio is turned up. In fact it just went off with a severe thunderstorm warning.

kjay: I was in a tornado once that there were actually 2 that a quarter mile wide. They each took a different side of the road. One took the neighbors house a quarter mile away. The other ripped part of the cattle barn off that belonged to our landlord. It was pretty scary. Some are a mile wide.

Yikes.. I'm terrified of tornadoes. Why did Dorothy want to return to Kansas so badly anyway with all the tornadoes??

Is this the start of the hurricane, tornado season there Karen?

Annie, tornado season is already in full swing but hurricane season doesn't start until June.
That is for both coasts of the US lol but it seems it takes turns for years at a time, so sometimes you can get a nice long break and forget about hurricanes.
We had a severe thunderstorm roll through last night, again. Tornado warnings, again! Agh... it gets my anxiety going.
Technically the safest room for us would be our downstairs bathroom, but we have a very large tree that could fall on that part of the house in a bad storm, so then it is not the safest room anymore.. and we have nowhere to hide but in a tiny space in the pantry closet on the floor.
We are strongly considering removing the large tree.... that way I won't need to worry so much every time the wind blows. It makes me sad because I love trees, and I do think it is majestic (a large oak), but it is dangerously close to the house and would completely crush it if it were to fall. So unfortunate that it has to be next to the house the way it is...

Oaks are beautiful, but...........
Have you got a log burner for the winter? I remember you have a large garden, so you are looking at months of free heat.

Very beautiful and intimidating.
Haha, we have a gas burner... and it's not vented, so we don't use it. I hate the smell.. feels like it is suffocating me. We had to use it when our power went out during an ice storm.. it was out for 3 days, and it was freeeeezing. The tree would have to just be taken away; can't use it :*(
It would be nice to have some outdoor furniture made of it, but that would probably be expensive.

Or you could do as I did - make the furniture yourself.
I do not have any tools to make furniture with, but I also have zero interest in building things. My dad on the other hand would probably do it, but he doesn't live here.
Hmm.. but I wonder if they can cut up some boards out of it for us. We actually need to have our foot bridge rebuilt.
By the time we do.. I bet we'll have another flood that washes the new one away lol the weather has been brutal these last few years.
