Simply Satie - Michael Dulin.... It's on my classical-ish station right now. I listen to it while I work, and then I forget to turn it off when I'm one Keeps me relaxed.

Here's some Canadian Christmas content (comedy, too): Metro's 11 Days From Christmas. I have the LP because Dad hasn't passed his on just yet and I got impatient!
At the moment I am listening to 1960's music on TV as I browse. It's interesting how relaxing songs from those times are. Much like TV dramas these days modern music often tends to be hard work unless I am in the mood.

I can be like that. I start off disliking a theme tune, but the more I hear it, the better it gets. lol

Stuck this here.....
The Guardian (I didn’t read it closely) had an article about “The Brit Awards”. I guess this is the UK’s version of music awards.
If I got it right, “The Brit Awards” did away with the “best” categories set by gender, that is, no more “best female/male” and such.
Turns out five “best” awards were given and no women received an award, just men.
Frankly I’m not sure what to think. The “Oscars” could give a single “best actor” award and skip the older, two-gender categories (best actor/actress). But in this case, fewer awards given to increase inclusivity actually increased exclusivity,
I have to admit that I hate these award programs. It's really advertising under another label rather than a program to hear good music. All credit to them but I just don't go for it. As such I am not sure of the current format of the "Brit Awards" but it does have plenty of followers here in the UK.

Award shows are just wet, and the awards aren't much better. When did anyone win a meaningful award that actually needed the pr that goes with it?
But I take your point, and agree with the award givers. Do women need a hand up to sing and write better than men. No!
It's a competition where neither gender has an ahead.
My dad always says it is nothing but themselves giving themselves awards. lol...
Your dad was spot on with that one.
My grandad used to shout at the telly. It was often really funny. He was usually having a go at the pompous, so award shows would have been right up his street.

It seems unlike me to argue for two categories, best female/male, because women are competitive in entertainment. And I always like to see women advance on merit.
But I do wonder if women have had the same opportunities as men have. I better stop here, it seems unnatural.

I wonder if it is about statistics?
More men than women enter the industry?
There is also the impinge, that male singers must not be ugly, whereas women singers must be attractive. That is not a fair balance.
