Mac foundation eyebrows No7 blusher Revlon eye shadow, mostly grey Urban Decay Perversion eyeliner Urban decay mascara black Staypout lipstick
I wonder how many women I would have to meet to find someone who did t identically, coz we all do much the same thing, and there are a limited number of companies, with a limited number of colours.

Lipstick is so glamorous and luxurious. Plus, there are so many brands out there. Of course MAC do the best lipsticks. But there are others that are equally as good. But the lipstick has to have the right consistancy: neither too matte nor too soft.
A good lipstick is Katy Kat Matte: you guessed it, Katy Perry. She's done a line of lipsticks with Cover Girl. I'd check those out!
These lipsticks and other cosmetics do often have well known names attached but many of them are churned out in China, like most other things. I tried a quick search on the Katy Perry lipstick but, as you may realise, seach engines tend to give you what they feel or push you to looking out rather than what you really want. That said, I did not find out where they are made.
Not that it matters greatly but I have been somewhat more patriotic recently and buying things made closer to home whenever practical

Many cosmetic lines are made by the same manufacturer. For example, when I lived in Lewisburg, TN, my best friend's mom worked at Cosmolab in quality control. Every pencil that had the slightest flaw would be thrown out. At the end of the night, they would all be gathered and placed in a bin. Oftentimes, my friend's mom would bring home all sorts of cosmetic pencils (blush, lip liner, lipstick, foundation, concealer, eye liner, etc.) with all sorts of labels (Mary Kay, Maybelline, Estee Lauder, etc.).
I can only imagine that would be the same for powders, foundations, cream lipstick, etc.
From what I can see, Cosmolab was bought by Schwan cosmetics (a German company) and moved to Murfreesboro, TN.

That is interesting, TestDummyCO.
A lot of brands must be manufactured in the same factories. And makeup is one of the most popular products that these factories manufacture. We just see products on the shelf: we don't see them being made.

I don't know why they have to make out of china because they are cheap to make. There are at least 6 cosmetic OEMs in this San Francisco Bay Area that I know.

Yes, I know of some here too and just over the channel in France.
Please be aware that anything that comes through China will have been tested on animals it's the law there that it must be tested on animals.
So your make-up might be cheaper but it is not pain free. Interesting to read how linked the brands are and how they decide that testing is ok if the consumer or law requires it.

There are a lot of well known companies there. It makes me happier with the high price I paid for 'Lush' products the other day as they avoid animal testing.

I'm prepared to pay a higher price for products that have not been tested on animals and don't damage the environment. I certainly don't use cheap cosmetics. Not because of snobbery: but because of the reasons I've listed.

If you read that list you'll see that quite a few of the more expensive brands still use backdoor tactics to test on animals in China..
Cruelty free doesn't have to be expensive.... bargain supermarket Aldi has proved that by winning the leaping bunny standard on all of their cosmetics www.aldi.co.uk/cruelty-free-accredited
